Ravi Shastri is a shrewd person with very good cricketing knowledge. At the same time he is very rash with words. To be a 'front runner' he is willing to do any thing. I have seen him 'gamble' with words even before the third umpire has had a good look at the replay for determining a run out. Our friend loves to be the first to say " he must Go".
I believe Muthiah Muralidharan should play his cricket and leave the rest to the Umpires on Duty. Star Sports is doing Yeoman service to Cricket Lovers by putting up a special programme anchored by Ravi Shastri. Will Ravi spell out "who exactly is the Person" who is victimizing Murali.
Though Shastri is a good cricketer and possesses a fine cricketing brain, he is not known for airing unbiased comments.
In the present instance, it is not insignificant to note that Shastri is batting for Murali so soon after signing Murali for his mktg. agency "Showdiff".
Another example for such shastri-speak is - during recent Asia Cup, wheh a graphic came on TV announcing that Sachin has overtaken Azhar as the Indian with highest no. of one-day runs against Sri Lanka, Shastri read out the complete sentence, just omitting Azhar's name. This incident presents the ugly side of shastri who chose to bring his personal grudges to the commentary box.
This article is a well written one.I too support Ravi Shastri in his support 2 murlitharan.Murli is definitely being made a victim just b'coz he is ahead of shane warne[a characterless fellow]and that he is an Asian.He[murli] has already played for a good 10-12years,he has reached a stage where he is the King of spin bowling.At this point of time its really unfair on part of the ICC 2 question his action.I oppose the ICC's sadism on murli.First of all, check Brett lee's action, r u leaders of the ICC mere servers of the Aussies?
Murali recently signed an endorsement contract with Ravi Shastri's new entertainment company called Showdiff. Looks like the appropriate title for this story should have been "Shastri defends his brand ambassador".
The real problem is Australia. They make such a hue and cry over Murali who is no doubt a chucker but just wink at their own Brett Lee who is also a chucker. This kind of bi-partison attitude has allowed chuckers like Murali,Lee,Shoaib and a few others to go scott free. Even Shastri is contributing to this confusion by encouraging Murali simply because he is an Asian. If this kind of selfish attitude persists then we will have more chuckers in the future.
