Sehwags Batting
by Rahul on Jan 12, 2006 12:37 PM

sehwag has played a very important role for india in that series against Pakistan, sehwag has capacity to play any pace bowler who ever he is but sometimes he lose his patience therefore throw his wicket very easily.

regarding aveages of pak series
by rajarajan Aiyenger on Apr 18, 2004 04:58 PM

The averages of the Indian batsman in this series although looks very good but when you see the performance in each innings it is pathetic. Just remove the highest score of the innings and then calculate the average. Isn't a pathetic show by so called Big B's of Indian cricket(dravid, Tendulkar and Ganguly.
Please try to give a better statistics.
For your information I along with my wife has started working on it but we are unable to get the detail datas. Once if it is given I assure you we will be giving better statistics which could be eye opener to all.

Thanks a lot and hoping for a positive response from the concerned and like minded people.

Tendulkar's Average
by Cricket Fan on Apr 18, 2004 03:45 PM

Though he failed at crucial junctures, Sachin's average is still maintained because of the 194 he scored in the first test. Guys, Wake Up!! Why don't u realise that Tendulkar is all hype and no action ??
Laxman's 71 in the third test or for that matter Parthiv's 69 in the third test are more valuable to the team's cause than Tendulkar's series average of 68+. India would anyway have won the series even if did not score that 194. Sehwag had already mauled them so much that, it didn't matter who was at the other end. Anyone would have got runs. Tell you what, the best thing that can happen to this team is drop Sachin and bring Yuvraj or Kaif into the test team. It will do wonders to the team. Sachin can play only on flat tracks, toothless attacks and no pressure situations.

What Dravid missed
by A Kashyap on Apr 18, 2004 11:24 AM

When Dravid was slogging at the end of his innings and got out, probably there was enough time for him bat for another 30 or 40 minutes if pressure for declaration was not there. But he went ahead with team requirement. Of course he missed 300 one in life time chance. Also, another 13 runs would have made him cross vengsarkar and made him third highest run maker of india, with another 20 or 30 runs and not out he would have gone past smits average and would have had highest batting average in contemporary players which he is second now. With another 30 or 40 minutes he would have jumped many places on longest innings than compared to current 10th position. Still he went slogged and got about. This is playing for the team.

Is the little master dying?
by ashok tewari on Apr 17, 2004 08:31 PM

Till about a year back, indian cricket revolved around sachin tendulkar.....but now things have changed. According to me, i dont think that sachin is taking this in his stride. At the age he is at and the position he has created for himself, i feel he should just enjoy his cricket. Forget about saving your wicket and just go for the kill like u used to. I am sure that now he is no more on the hit list of any opponents....and the amount of single figures he is getting is just ridicolous....Whatever, 5 -6 yrs of cricket is left in him....would serve india great if he can just become the sachin of old. I PRAY FOR THE DAY WHEN I WILL SEE HIM DOMINATE THE WORLD OF CRICKET ONCE AGAIN.

Wrong averages
by Ali Asghar on Apr 17, 2004 04:37 PM

The avarages stated for saqlain and fazl-e-akbar are incorrect. Perhaps the column width is not wide enough to display the correct numbers.
