Wrong Statistics

Again and again Akash Magotra says that Anshuman Gaekwad made a double hundred against Pakistan in Pakistan. Gaewad did that in India against Pakistan and was never able to get any century in Pakistan. Pls. study well before bringing it on net.

Take care,
Eddie

It seems from the report that Ganguly has no contribution at all....!!! Surprising enough.

The nadir of reporting
by Roger on Apr 15, 2004 07:44 PM

This is not the first time that one has gotten to read such a biased, uninformed & prejudiced report from this correspondent. The fact that he is a correspondent for Rediff does not do rediff's reputation any good.
While one can cite countless examples, one will suffice to illustrate the point. Reporting on Ganguly's innings, his imperfection in running between the wickets has been highlighted leaving out everything else. The fact that he scored 77 runs and starred in a 130+ run partnership with Dravid during an extremely crucial juncture of the match is not mentioned. The fact that he is the second highest scorer in the Indian innings and played a major role in India scoring 600 is not mentioned. Reading "Maggot"-ra's report someone who has not watched the day's play or looked at the scorecard would be entitled to think that Ganguly came, stuck around for a little bit, made an insignificant contribution and threw away his wicket.
The Indian team has got a lot of good things going in it's favour. Maggots of the "Maggot"-ra kind is the last thing it needs in its march to cricketing history & glory.
