Cricket War!
by Sandeep on Apr 16, 2004 11:19 PM

reading the news from the meadia abt the india- pakistan match makes me feel like a great war between these countries. Can't media take the cricket match only as a sports not a battle between two countries.
It's rediculous to see the Persident of a country sending a message to the indian team...as india has triumph over a great war. If the persident is so innocent why dont he send message when we win a kabbaddi match from any country. Why so!

Its the begining
by vineet on Apr 14, 2004 11:59 AM

India on the verge of a series win against Pak at their land...and that Too without big-guns of India making any significant contribution...tendulkar(except one innigs), Dravid, Laxman all didnt click and still Indian young lads...yuvraj,sehwag, patel and esp the bowling department making the histroy happen...
I wud say that this is just the begining of what is taking shape for near future..Beware the Aussies...Your crown is in real danger.

Good job, but way to go
by Gaurav Gulati on Apr 14, 2004 08:09 AM

India has done a good job so far, though could have been better in much better position. But never the less, advantage is still with them, and they can not afford to be complacent.....All the best!!

india opening pair
by gunvir on Apr 13, 2004 10:21 PM

India only had a little time to bat before the end of the first day's innings, because of this they sent out patel more as a night watchman rather than an opening batsman. i doubt if ganguly would have sent out parthiv if india batted had more than a session to play.
as for chopra, he did a good job as opener, but he and all his supporters must be really naive to think that if he didn't make some big runs he would last more than a few tours. Hopefully if and when he returns he will realize that he must stick around for a bit longer to really prove his worth, especially with batsmen of the class of yuvraj knocking for an opportunity.

How sad
by surajvr on Apr 13, 2004 08:22 PM

I have been reading cricket reports from most news papers and have this to say.
90 percent of opinions are based on what commentators say on the leading channel which telecast the match..Hardly any report seems to be a first hand original opinions, that includes the ones from rediff as well..

Tendulkar is a spent force !
by Satyanarayan on Apr 13, 2004 05:31 PM

Sachin Tendulkar's bright days are over. He is now a spent force. The one who bothered many bowlers worldwide is, now, not even worth a thought for the present day bowlers. Very rarely, a match winning innings have come from him of late. He perishes rather meekly in trying to throw his bat desparately at balls that are a laid trap.

Its time our BCCI gets realistic instead of being in insane sentiments, and realise that merit will what matter. Spent forces should be discarded and fresh blood invited.

I am sure my comment will anger many, but how many times have we not agreed to the wise saying "truth is bitter" ? Lets face it, come on.
