Mr. ganguly is too diplomatic in his narration of the subject as to who will be substituted so as to allow him enter the Indian 11. Why as a cptian or a good nationalist, he stays away from the game as there is no place vacant. Can he open the indian innings in style and without causing much of disturbance to sehwag's natural instincts.
Instead of saying that the matter will be discussed with the board, he should very clearly say that there is no place for him in the test team and lest we forget he is the weakest link in indian fielding, so he must deliver somewhere to garner a position in Indian cricket team. The only hope I see, if he replaces Akash Chopra will be to open the inning with dash and try to score some quick runs, otherwise rawalpindi and co. will see that his ribcage is well taken care of.
More so, i am unable to understand why dravid do not open the innings with Sehwag and provides solidity at the top. believe me, Chopra shall be a wonderful player if he comes immediately after laxman or Yuvraj- just try him once or twice there and see the result.He's a man with big heart and wonderful reflexes- something like Jonth rhodes. Few wxperiments should be made.
How else can you explain a team that made 600+ in the first test is struggling to make 200? The pitch has also dried up by 3rd day, and against the same attack. Now we know why pak dropped so many catches of Sehwag in 1st test. It's all decided well in advance who wins which test. We the Indians who are obsessed with this cricket are being taken for a ride by the cricket boards and sponsors. It's high time we as a nation get out of this collective obsession.
Match is fixed. I cannot imagine players like Dravid /Laxman/Tendulkar failing twice in a test. Leave alone that the umpires also are playing their part too. Hope 3rd test is clean.
