Tendulkar and pressure
by Cricket Fan on Apr 08, 2004 08:45 AM

You must understand that Sachin never plays under pressure. Your article suggests as if it is an exception. The truth is it is the norm. He is more comfortable walking in at 150 odd for 2 than 20 odd for 2.

Protest against Bucknor
by Dheeban on Apr 08, 2004 06:54 AM

Bucknow should not be allowed even to stand in one more test match against India. India should protest against him heavily. If he stands again, I suggest Indian bowlers show some protest by not handing over the caps/glasses to him while bowling. They shuould devise a creative strategy to show their protest as the match progresses. They should not even talk to him other than appealing..

Spirit is important

It is easy to get carried away and criticize the Indian team. But, I believe they did not play badly. I would support Dravid's decision to bat first. Four out of five times, it would have clicked. So many, I mean, really so many umpiring decision went against India. Tendulkar was unlucky to be given out in both the innings. The lbw was very close in the first inning considering the angle at which the ball came so wide off the pitch. He had faint edge when he was given out in the second innings even as the ball kept a bit low. Chopra was again unlucky to be given out with the ball hitting the bat as it did the pad. Laxman received a peach of a delivery. It is fair to say that Pakistan played well till now. I am happy the way Sehwag and Patel fought. The second day score of 2/290 just does not reflect the effort put in by the Indian bowlers, leave aside the ever improving Bucknor. He does really seem to have something against Indians. I can't count the number of decisions that went against India. Considering all these, I would say India has put up a good fight in this test. We have to wait and see if Sehwag, Patel, Pathan and the tailenders can put up some total on board.

Indo Pak tour - 2nd test
by ashish on Apr 08, 2004 01:39 AM

This is a complete joke. I mean the Indian team. One victory in Multan and that was it, we have started acting up.

This only shows that Indian team probably are the specialists to play on dead pitches or are overawed by the Pakistani bowlers.

Where have all the stalwarts gone -one of the world's solid batting sides - are out of sorts.

Such performance definitely makes one feel - are they really batting badly or is it again the 'FIXED MATCH'

Cannot say with ticket sales dropping so low - such antics could probably bring the crowd back

The 2nd test @ Lahore is lost already. If India did well in austarlia it was due to excellant performances from Lakshman& Dravid. The former has been a disappoinment in Pakistan. His place should go to Yuvaraj.Perhaps this will motivate Lakshman to do better.

I have in my one previous mesaages had told that this unpire Bucknor is anti-Indian.Why such umpires should be allowed to do umpiring? only ICC can explain. Ganguly and BCCI should strongly protest to ICC against this umpire.
