Pakistan's performance
by ash on Jan 23, 2005 01:20 PM

I think the biggest problem with the Pakistan team is lack of leadership.Inzimam is a great player, but not a good leader. He tends not to keep the pressure on the other teams, which helps the other team put the pressure on.
The second biggest problem is when Shoaib is bowling, there are no close fielders for that catch off the short pitched delivery.
Pakistan needs an aggressive captain, one that can make quick decisions.

I cant stop my laughter.
how can one think that cricket can be used for cooling the temeramament. Can u explain rameez if this can happen then, why KARGIL happened just after one of the greatest india-pak series in 1999. It might have happend like this, when complete india was enjoying cricket, people like u in pakistan were consipiring for intrusion... and today u are saying cricket will cool the temprament. Rameez when ur board is in trouble u are calling india to revive it.. Get lost Rameez... u cant find much buyer of ur argument here... and i am sure people in pak never give a damn care about thought of urs kinda people.

India shouldnt play Pakistan !
by Suresh on Sep 20, 2003 03:45 AM

India shouldnt play pakistan till the bilateral issues between two countries are sorted .Cricket in India is being followed by milliions and while Indians are being butchered by the terrorists being trained in Pakistan , it would be a shame if India plays Pakistan in India and Pakistan which helps Pakistan cricket board make money out of it .Unless and until the cross border terrorism stops and Indians can go out of homes without thinking about hidden bombs in buses and trains ,India shouldnt play pakistan in pakistan or india.

Cricket will help
by Partha on Sep 19, 2003 07:40 PM

I agree with Rameez. Not only cricket, but the best medicine against terrorism and all the ill feelings and the rhetoric is to open the borders and allow people of pakistan come freely. This will help them understand the situation. And if we do that, Pakistan government will be forced to do the same. The more we keep them out, the more we help the military junta to brainwash them with whatever their agenda is. I don't think an average pakistani is losing his night's sleep because kashmir is not part of pakistan, it is the agenda of the government (which has been hijacked by the military since the birt of the nation). Same in India - except a few fanatics, who cares whether Kashmir is part of the political map of India or Pakistan as long as the Kashimiris there are not getting shot and blown into pieces everyday? We, the common people of both the countries, are like water - the tiny drops don't matter much, and tends to take the shape of the vessels they are in; but if they are together and and start moving - its a flood. As far as India and Pakistan are concerned, no wars can ever solve the problem... let people of both country mix and soon there will be no border.

Partha, you think resuming India-Pakistan cricket matches will put an end to terrorism in India. I swear, man, this comment must be the greatest joke of this century!!!! Didn't we have cricketing relations with them for years except for the last 5 years? Did they stop terrorizing India? And now you think that if the cricketing ties are resumed, they will stop dispatching terrorists to India.......wow......great thinking!!! Are you a born genius? I will recommend your name as one of the nominees for the Noble Peace Prize next year. & if you indeed win it, do share it with Mr. Pervez Musharaf!!!!

cricket and pakistan
by priyal on Sep 19, 2003 06:51 PM

Indian soldier must be the most neglected lot in the soldier fraternity. They keep a vigil on our borders with a two tonged enemy, they serve the politicians as black cats, they get paid in nuts and when cant handle the pressure, they commit suicide.

And we have those who have nothing like terrorism, killings, and bombings on their their mind, but think of making money out of creating sentiments.

Tell me one thing, we always had cricketing ties with pakistan in last 50 years, sans last 5 years, still why we had 3 wars, with latest Kargill? If we think cricket will help us to come together and cool our sentiments, he must be living in the eden of fools.

With daily blasts, killings, and with the reign of terror in our cities, do we let the pakistanis in our homes?
One way of looking at it is, common people are not in favor of war and terrorism, and we should not blame them. But a country is made up of its people, right? And if a country is getting trigger happy and believes that it can snatch a part of other country by hitting it below the belt, are its people not co-conspirators to it? If they don't like doing it, why don't they show the guts to stop it? Double standards!!

Cricket an essential factor for good relationship.
by Ashwin.B on Sep 19, 2003 06:48 PM

Hi,
According to me,India should resume their cricketing ties with Pakistan. There is no point in comparing cricket with politics.
I have a belief that one day, cricket will solve the problem between the 2 countries.Sounds funny, but there is a possibility.
