Sir Why you not write about Mumbai players as they perform well in domestic season and they won ranji trophy last year ? there are very good players like Vinayak mane & Wassim jafer , Avishkar Salvi , Ramesh Powar, Heamng badani , sriram got alrready chance to play with India but tehy didn't performance well ..
as per selectors , now journalisams also start to ignore mumbai performance ....
Now i think mumbaikar have to do something on this issues
selecting a team is a tough task but the indian team selection for any playing x1 wil include sachin, rahul, saurav, sehwag, zaheer, harbhajan, srinath. 7 out of a sixteen places booked everybody knows australian wickets r fast and v lose horibly on such wickets.remember brett lee? batsmen were playin dandya when lee was bowlin v cannot rely on ashish nehra and ajit agarkar because they hav injury problems every now n then. develop balaji, munaf patel, bhandari, salvi. these guys can b very good bowlers it will b sad if sriram n rohan do not get an opportunity now yuvraj has proved that on good batting wickets he can help in any run chase the recent challenger series was good for parthiv it was good to c the way he whacked the hell out of a genuine fast bowler like amit bhandari seems this guys due for a real good knock in the international arena indian can surely beat australia if v work on playin on faster wickets during the next few months
It is difficult to select 11 players when there are about 50 promising players. Besides players like Badani,Ramesh, and Das have been selected and tried but have failed many times over.Only Sriram was discarded after just one failure. One cannot blame the selectors if the players fail to perform in international matches. This is not the case with a team like Australia where every player performs when selected for a match. It is a well known fact that Indian players are mentally weak and choke when they play abroad. This was proved during the final match against Australia in the world cup.
Faisal Shariff's columns have started going from bad to worse. This guy needs to seriously read and learn from Prem Panicker on how to make even the most mundane of topics interesting. Rediff also needs to consider hiring better writers on a full time basis as the cricket section gets the maximum eye balls and with people like Faisal writing these columns, the interest in waning.
Selectors must give chances to young fsat bowlers such as Munafpatel and VRV singh, who are praised by Ganguly for their Pace, Since Test series in Australia will depend on Good batting and Ability to take wickets and bowl out them twice in a Tets match, it is not an easy Job unless, we have some Pacy and abilty to get bounce from Good length bowlers. Since no one is perfect against Sheer pace this Young boys must be given a chance in India so that they have some Confidence before they go to Australia, Remeber we need bowlers with good stamina to bowl consistently in Test cricket, Ashish nehra and Ajit Agarkar don't have the stamina to bowl consistently in Test cricket.
We must win in Australia this time.
Our pace attack in my opinion for Test matches should have
Javagal Srinath Zaheer Khan Munaf Patel VRV singh L. balaji Rakesh patel also deserves a look in since he is anallrounder. Srinath along with any two other bowlers must be given a Chance.
