I still believe srinath can atleast play for two more years. As he is an experience bowler he should go to
Australia if his knee permits else he should hang around for some more months atleast in cricket.

Alternatives to be in the team

It is really surprising that our bowlers want to play only as bowlers and not concentrate on their batting. Imran Khan is an ideal example whom our bowlers like Srinath , Kumble should necessarily follow. Imran was in Pakistan team mainly as a bowler till eighties. After eighties , he started having trouble bowling. But he concentrated on his batting and was in the team mainly as a batsman till his retirement.

Srinath no doubt is a good bowler and has done well in Australia in earlier trips. However under present conditions upon selection if he were to buckle after few matches in Australia then the team would be losing a bowler and a player a chance to tour Australia.A replacement sent if any would find it hard to acclimitize under Australian conditions in a short time. The selectors should be careful in chosing the team members lest the team configuration get disturbed.

Foregone misery!

Mr.Srinath says his knee is improving slowly. The Aussie tour is next month. So how does Srinath expect to make the tour? Well it won't make any difference which bowlers are selected because whomsoever goes, better be prepared to be creamed and walloped by the Aussie batsmen. It is no use going to Australia unless the team is specially prepared for the bouncy conditions over there. The Indian team is not getting prepared for those conditions and so the result is obviously a doomstour for India, considering India's track record down under. So if you are a die hard Indian fan you better forget about this upcoming series and seriously get involved with some other hobby or pastime unless you have a penchant to be really disappointed and feel sorry for Indian cricket .

Being a friend of Srinath, i would love to watch him in Australia. It may give us a good chance to keep the Aussie batsmen at check.

In Australia, experience to get adopted to the conditions is the most imp thing even for bowlers & hence Srinath will defenitely help that cause to a great extent.
