Pommie monotony!
by Muralidhar Rao on Oct 30, 2003 12:55 PM

Is anybody seriously keeping track of this rigor mortis series? I thought the just concluded India-NZ tests was for people who had absolutely nothing else to do. But this one between England and Bangladesh is appalingly boring that if one watches it completely there is the danger of just dying of sheer boredom or ending up in a pshychiatric ward from depression. I cannot imagine England batting this way even though they have never been famous for brisk scoring. The Australians would have easily achieved a run rate of over 4 an over. The pommies are crawling at 2 per over against a side called Bangla Desh. That should give a hint as to how low a level to which England has stooped in cricket. Its time for the rest of the cricket world to follow the example of the Australians of scoring quickly in test matches also and therby force a result at least for the sake of the people who are watching.
