Cricket lovers across the country would like to read more about the contribution of the late colonel to the game of cricket. Rediff could supply us with more information. Hemu was a great soul. May his memory live on. Our sincere condolences to the bereaved family members.
Col. Adhikari never got the public acclamation that he deserves. In my opinion, he was the second best cricket captain India ever had: second to Vijay Merchant. These were the people who played real cricket, for the love of the game; in the days when they had no sponsors, no TV; but the Indian public admired cricket and the cricketers as much as they do now.
You guys really want to "cut costs", don't you. All those exotic characters from Bollywood and Indian cricket from yesteryears, do you seriously think anybody has seen pictures of them at all? Don't you owe it to you readers that you display pictures, while printing obituary notices at least?!
