Don't be ignorant and/or blind?

The Australian player just said that he sees Tendulkar as the biggest challenge for Australia's bowlers. I don't think he was saying anything negative. In fact he was acknowledging how good Tendulkar can be in his best form.

I think that the real question is not how these or any other words will affect Tendulkar but how the Indians will counter the biggest batting threat of this tournament namely HAYDEN. This man is going to KILL the Indian bowlers and who knows he might even be the first person to score 200 in a ODI in one of these coming series against India.

And dont forget the guys who set up the thrasing at the world cup Finals -RICKY PONTING.

And of course the most dangerous batsman on a given day of current years - ADAM GILCHRIST.

India, instead of thinking about what these comments will do to Tendulkar (if anything), should think about how on earth they are going to stop the RAMPAGING AUSSIE BATSMEN!!

If they don't watch their backs the Indian "Tigers" are going to be mauled on the field!

Heat on Master

it is part of aussie stratagy to speak hot words before every tour to unsetlle the best player of opposition. But they are not aware of Sachin's plans.
He is might be aware of this kind of attack on him.
So, good luck to aussies to some thing extraordinary in future.

this is not the first time aussies have mentioned the point . well in 1997 they were talking how to tame a lion? then emerged the king of cricket. in 2002 they said they are gonna conquer the world. but they lost bitterly and i guess they havent recovered from the night mare yet. in 2003 they are here again and i just want to mention the aussies one point. NOT IN INIDA

No Need to worry

Aussies are Known for this type of tactics and we cannot stop them. What we can do is be mentally strong and reply all these tricks on field.
If we can do it aussies will themselves forget all this type of tactics.
Moral-: MENTAL STRENGTH.

They make the mistake again!
by Omkar Joshi on Oct 23, 2003 01:24 PM

Why do it? Why invoke the injured tiger..after all thats the most dangerous animal on earth and being on the other side of the wicket to such a beast is asking for trouble.
Bichel and Co should take some lessons from the past and know that whenever in the past any bowler/team has tried saying anything against Sachin, the result has been a complete backlash from the little master...and not of words but runs.
They have once again done it and I am absolutely certain Sachin will thrash the aussies out of the park. Mark my words for this...the aussies are dead meat having invoked Sachin once again.
Dear God almightly..Best wishes to u and show them why ur called the the greatest batsman in the world.
Best wishes..
Omkar Joshi.

tri-series

It is modest of ausies to tret themselves as underdogs.Any other team in their position would have rated themselves very high.Even this second team is strong enough to beat any team in the world.they need not worry about mediocre indian team where just one or two players are of internationalstandards in batting. If they take care of newzeland, they win the series.

Chokephobia!
by Muralidhar Rao on Oct 22, 2003 01:48 PM  | Hide replies

I don't understand this stupid strategy. Why do opposing teams have to target Tendulkar? In the semi final and final matches anyway Tendulkar chokes and gifts his wicket away on his own volition. So why bother targetting Tendulkar? Instead they should target Sehwag, Ganguly, Dravid, Kaif and Yuvraj. By this time around anybody with some cricket knowledge should know that Tendulkar simply cannot handle pressure situations. Final exams just choke Sachin to fear and nervousness and in this process Tendulkar gets out to reckless shots or just gets clean bowled. Its a shame that Sachin never bothered to correct his one and only weakness of tackling crisis. If he had only taken help from specialists and professionals early on to handle pressure sitautions(instead of ignoring them) he could have avoided being branded a choker because of his unnecessary failures at crunch time.

Mr Murlidhar Rao ,

I guess you are referring to the World cup final , Natwest final etc.. right ? can you tell me Bevan , Richards , SteveWaugh , Lara or any player for that matter having chased 300+ runs in their lives in a final ? are they not great then ? also why does India have to chase 300+ scores in the finals always ? the answer to this , our bowlers are not good enough , is the answer to the comments posted by you.

Our bowling is the worst in the world in the era that it is playing barring for few years when the spin quartet were playing & when Kapil was there which is when we won so many matches abroad..
