Lets accept it
by virkarn on Oct 22, 2003 11:26 AM

Lets accept it, Laxman is here to stay. He does not not have the glamour/PR which players like Sachin,Ganguly or Sehwag commands.

It is something like this. In comparison with motoclycles there are shiny bikes like Boss, Eliminator etc but still Enfield bullet and Yezdi commands its respect and place. Maybe Laxman and Dravid are like that..

Be mature !

"others' Have also not got run !!??" This is what our future captain says.Few days back media tried to make this man captain, who doesnt have a little maturity. Any way Mr.laxman just wait for Austrlia tour , we have to really check your shot selection outside off stump. All the best ! Try to learn from Dravid, the wall.

Sucess at door step
by Nikhil Desai on Oct 22, 2003 10:54 AM

Laxman should start rotating the strike & nothing else the sucess is at his door step as Ganguly is also not available he has the better chance to prove him self.

stop fooling with his career

the man's absolutely right.he dosen't have to prove anything.Even though he has been criticized time and again after his magical 281,the fact is he is averaging over 50 in tests after that and has scored all over the world except in new zealand (where the whole bunch failed).Besides he comes into his own when playing against the best teams in the world.time and again he has bailed our team out of trouble when the entire batting has collapsed.
He is the stronghold of indian batting along with tendulkar and dravid. If someone has to prove his batting worth in tests,it's the indian captain.

laxman has shown his real caliber over the past few years.he has become a wall for the indian team protecting them and from giving away matches to the opponents.but never we should blame on the captain for not playing well in the recent times.he has given the support and confidence to the players which made us enter the wc finals.india has never seen such a strong leader in the past.

VVS and Ramesh should have been included the World Cup. I was always wondering why they were omitted.

Time & Again Laxman stands out head and shoulder about Sachin & Dravid
by Sudip Majumder on Oct 21, 2003 10:36 PM

Mr Faisal - one of the prime requirement of being a reasonable average journalist is to be somewhat impartial. Sorry to say that you failed in that miserably time and again - either you unwillingly or willingly became a pawn of Sachin's marketing machine or the mean parochialism has embedded into your vain so much that you see evrything with a colored parochial lense. Do not understand why you have to get the name of Sachin & Dravid while talking about Laxman. Something is definitely wrong somewhere., Sachin's marketing machinery will never allow us to forget how great player he is even when he is failing miserably and doing pathetically. Did you join the marketing bandwagon of Sachin or is it your parochialism that reached such a saturated level that you can not help it. We need some answer.
