Monopoly on Particular days!!
by Badrinath.W on Oct 15, 2003 07:11 PM

I pity the indian team everytime it performs, I feel if one player is playing fine the other is affected with his strategies, is thier any sort of monopoly ruling over the minds of players that results in loss of matches which are supposed to be won!!!

ganguly captaincy
by gaurav on Oct 15, 2003 10:45 AM

his captaincy is the biggest liability to the indian cricket team, however his luck is very good. which is still keeping him in captaincy. it is the team which is firing in the recent past & has notjing to do with amazing captaincy. he doesn't have too much faith in agarkar but he had faith in the raw talent of balaji. he gave more overs to him rather than zaheer, what was he thinking, balaji ended with just one wicket in the match. in the end it was the lack of the second seamer and bad captaincy which costs india the test.

India urgently need good bowlers
by Arindam on Oct 15, 2003 10:37 AM

Rather, India urgently needs Srinath. Without him the bowling looks toothless. Balaji did not look impressive on debue. Nehra is good but he remains unfit half the year. Zaheer is no Kapil, alone he can't pull the pace battery. Srinath where are you? Indian team still needs you. Please come back.

Its time to look out for a replacement for Kumble
by raj on Oct 14, 2003 10:19 PM

It's hightime now that we definitely need some one who can replace Anil Kumble. Anil Kumble served Indian Cricket for a long time, but he is no more a Match Winner.

Indians need to score on an average of 3.5 Runs per over in Test Matches only then they can expect a Win in any test match, thats the major difference between Australia and any other Cricket playing nations.

Regards,
Raj

No Fault with the captain...
by Vipin on Oct 14, 2003 09:36 PM

its of no use to blame the captain. instead, the spinners disappointed a little. but the most important thing is that indian batsmen scored runs at a slower run rate. it would have been better if the indians scored 140+ runs at a run rate of over 3.5 to declare before lunch, thus geting more time to make new zealanders go for the chase. but its do or die situation. only those who have a genuine sportsman spirt can accept this, incase the opposition would have acieved the chase. but i am sure, in the above situation match would not have ended in a boring draw.

Need to replace Sehwag with Bahutule
by vskrishnan on Oct 14, 2003 06:47 PM

PAtel and Akash can open. Bahutule will give us an additional 3 rd spinner option and he is no mean bat either.

Poor performance by Indian in first test
by Bharat Madhavi on Oct 14, 2003 06:37 PM

We are playing in India (Home ground). We are having players like Rahul, Sachin, Shehwag & Sourav. Then where is question arrised to play with extra Batsman.
Second thing we have loose only three wickets till we could not make 250 runs in a day. On second day if Ganguly was having idea to declare the inning by Tea time, we have loose only five wickets then why we have not make 650 runs by that time ( we make 500/5 in 159 overs. whereas Australia makes 735/6 in 149 overs only. One can get idea form this only. We know the limitation of our bowlers. Then why ganguly declare inning earlier.

we can still beat the daylights out of the kiwis
by yashraj suvanam on Oct 14, 2003 04:39 PM

well, ganguly and co have to up the run rate certain notches, they can learn this by watching their aussie counterparts downunder.
all we need to do is to intimidate the flightless kiwis, and we have the fire power to do it.
nothing is lost yet.

why indian players dils don't maange more?
by Krishna on Oct 14, 2003 03:46 PM

its silly to have a statement from ganguly that the pitch is not good and blaming others why don't they analyze themselves and come on to the ground.
