This is one simple mathematical model I use to assess team strength.It is based on Relative Scores that range from 0 to 3.If two players are equal I would give both a score of 0. i.e they are even or at par. If two players are some what differnet in their abilities then I give better player +1.If there is perceptable difference in their abilities I give better player +2.
If differnce in their capabilities is very high then I give better player a score of +3
