It was a beautiful innings by Badani but what's the point I can say that this guy is better bet than Ganguly in the Test team. I personally feel sorry for Badani, the only way he can break in to the Indian team is by playing for some other state team. And the same holds good for Ramesh and Sriram. Sriram is a great cricketeer. He is a wonderful fielder, a great batsman his record in the domestic level and the recently concluded India A series of England will prove that point and he is a bowling option as well.
I wonder what opinion Prem Panicker has about Sriram.
All in all I want to dwell up on a time if you play for TN Ranji Team you won't get to play for India.
Once more the selectors along with the Ganguly have been involved in politics,nepotism and lacking courage. Yuvraj getting the nod over the more deserving Badani. As for Sairaj it is a case of trying him out too late for the bigger trials. Afterall what has Sairaj done to deserve selection? Munaf Patel should have been selected instead of the tried and failed Bauhutule. It would have been a great opportunity for Munaf to have learnt some more skills blending with the other medium pacers. What more can one expect from a young kid who is playing his first first class match? Some players don't need the Ranji exposure and Munaf is one of those few.
time and again,badani has proved his class in both the versions of the game and yet never seems to figure in the selectors' scheme of things.this perennial bias against tamil nadu players has destroyed the careers of so many promising cricketers from the southern state, sharath,rebeun paul,badani and ramesh,to name a few.murali karthik too, must feel vindicted for he must have thought that playing for railways would overshadow his tamil origin,but the selectors are too shrewd to acknowledge this fact.
