Hi I guess reading Srinaths column he should be a part of India's coaching camp for fast bowlers. His recent experience and expertise of the game will come in handy for new comers like Balaji, Tinu, Zaheer, Nehra etc.. He could well stay on with the team in home series. I guess the BCCI can afford that. After all its all abt giving back to the game what U get.
A great article. Hope all others writers put in so much thought as done by Sri and be frank while writing and hope we get good tracks encouraging more pacemen
This article has an entirely different flavor from what I have seen in rediff. Coming out of one of the India's best fast bowlers (it also embodies the pain of being one) makes it even more exotic. How many fast bowlers have we seen and how many can articulate like Sri? Sri can do a lot of work for the future pacemen of India. Hope he will be back with his best against the Aussies.
Old is Gold....proved beyond doubt... Sir Srinath has just gone ahead and shown the value of experience.... all things learnt in those hours of blood, sweat and toil should be shared with all those who take the game seriously and follow it religiously... thanks to a great champion like Srinath we finally have that chance..........plz keep it coming....and for all those who think i was just too appreciative of both this article and Srinath....then maybe you were sleeping the last decade or so when the Real WarHorse just kept speeding in... day in day out ...without an ounce of support from anyone But still there was not even the slightest grudge or complaint...KEEP IT UP big man....
Are the conditions the only thing ? Or is it also the fact that our country of 1 b cannot throw up one boy who can hurl the ball at 95 mph. Every world-class team today has these blokes..... Shoaib n Sami in Pak, Brett and Jason in Aus, Andersen in Eng, tht Hendrick guy frm SA, Bond frm NZ..... lets face it guys..... Zaheer , Nehra and mebbe even Pathan might notch up till maybe around 140- 145 kmph. Why cant someone go on till 150... 153..155.. ? WHY ?
As we have all know ,these quick chaps can trouble the best of batsmen ( remmeber Sachin n Dravid on consecutive balls in Chennai.. Shoaib )on the most placid wickets..... wht u need, apart frm line, length and stamina, is pace.... sheer, raw pace !
This is a great article. It shows, that its written by a man who not only knows his craft but also is a keen observer of the game. Keep writing Srinath and hope you have some more years in the Indian team too.
