replacement for duckworth-lewis rule...
by ashish on Oct 01, 2003 08:12 PM

hi everyone...
i dun know the idea exactly behind duckworth-lewis law...but still i can suggest an alternative...may be wrong or right....suppose a team before the rain or anything like that comes and had finshed its batting...now suppose that the rain was expected to come at the starting of the match....then the team shud have tried its best to start to score at the highest possible rate...then we can give a target of the overs comprising of the overs in which the first team has scored at the highest run rate...suppose we want to give a target on the basis of 25 overs...then consider the 25 overs in which the team batting first has scored at the highest run rate...so the team will have to score more than that score...and nothing more than anything obtained with a mathematical interpolation/extrapolation...
thanking you...ashish...
