Indian team's AUS tour
by Ayyoob on Dec 01, 2003 05:48 AM

This tour is going to be disaterous. That is what can be prdicted from the symtoms. Our team was never given the option of playing in fast pitches in india. Always after a foreign tour we would say we should make fast track. But nothing concrete have done twards this.

So my view is that If our team has to perform well at foreign pitches, we have to make at least half of our pitches to foreign standars.

Sending our team to especially to australia without giving them adequate esposure is suicidal. There is going to be the slaghter of our batsmen and bowlers. Let us pray for them.

Indians in Australia

1.If you wanted to play S.Ramesh, it should have been only in No:1 OR 2.

2.You must remember the fact that Laxman played a heroic knock, when the series was lost, last time and he was not selected for the ODI Series. In the final Test last time, he had nothing to lose, but only to gain.So he could take his chances, and produced a big score. You must not forget the fact that that particular innings was only out of desperation. One must admit that he is a class batsman in Indian conditions. This innings of yesterday is no indication of what he could really do in Australia.

3.In the ODIs, Dravid should not keep wickets. He is not a good and specialist Wicket Keeper.See how he did the job in Bangalore. He tried to stump Ponting with one hand! The basics were wrong!5 Bowlers, one wichet keeper and 5 Batsmen, if this combination is tried, over a short period of time Indians are sure to overtake the Australians.

India's Tour Match - Shameful Performace
by Soumya Sanyal on Nov 30, 2003 05:56 PM

Touted as being one of the mismatches of India's touring history, I am not surprised at the result of it all (vs. Queensland Academy). To think the World Cup runners up can concede a lead to a bunch of rookies in a training academy is no less than shameful. I have begun to believe this Indian team finds it hard to shake off it's one day mentality. Sehwag, as irresponsible as ever. Chopra showing the weakenesses of a typical Indian opener on foreign soil. And the captain Ganguly. I really wish he put the weight of runs behind his words. Somehow, his batting seems have gone from bad to worse over the years. Is there a sense of pride in our playing 11? Or do they assume a tour match is just another net practice ? The Aussie media is laughing, and I suspect Adam Gilchrist is turning in his bed right now, whether coming at no. 7 in the test line up will get him to bat at all? Woeful catching, less than average fielding. The Aussie moms might be covering their son's eyes, when India fields. Bad Karma! Limited we might be in talent on hard pitches, there should be no dearth of effort. And that is what is disheartening. This is posing to be another series washout. Shame on you Team India!
