If you look at the 80's side,the side has three capable openers in Shastri,Srikkanth & of course the great Sunil Gavaskar.Something has to be done about this,at the domestic level
It may be very humble of Kumble to,at long last,own that his performance overseas is no patch on his domestic figures. Even this has changed,as in recent times specially in the series vs.the Kiwis,his performance was woefully below international levels. I advise him to first set a correct field for his bowling for the day and not something from memory and textbooks. How can a spinner not have a slip fielder on the off side. He has this nauseating habit of letting loose at least one ball in an over on the legside where he never bothers to protect himself. So many runs are being gifted by our bowlers,including Kumble,mailnly from unimaginative field placements. Even an mediocre bowlers can contribute bt tight bowling. Will he pay heed?
i liked the interview by leggie anil kumble.it's a very clear confession on his part that his record overseas has not been that great as is in the nation.and i feel he is a world class legspinner like shane warne but the only thing which becomes a hindrance for him to be taken equal to shane warne is his overseas record.but yes we must give the credit to the 33yr old bowler who has done india proud on various occassions.good or bad performance is a part of the game.even tendulakr who is considered to be a great performs very badly in key games.so all credits for lots of indian test victories goes to anil kumble.and i hope he continues his good form in australia which he is showing in the match against queensland.
