Because no one can break ice without money ! It is that simple.
by chanakya on Dec 01, 2003 02:11 PM

What Judeo recently commented about money is not only true but it is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

You need to have a serious enquiry commission to find some one or some place where the money is DENIED its misplaced but due respect (!)

Once that thorough Puri is through on the SIT on telgi, he ought to be made in charge of an SIT to investigate into the working of BCCI to seperate the milk and the water.

When everybody is supposed to be aware of the "mahimaa" of money, that Laxmiji, Lord Vishnu's wife would definitely get annoyed if someone blocks her illegitimate entry into one's coffer.

A Puri kind of an SIT on the BCCI is OVERDUE !!

Whether the big boss Dalamiya likes it or not !!!

DAALmiya mai kuch kaala hai.
by Pritesh on Nov 29, 2003 01:19 PM

From the article, there definetly is something going on with this man Daalmiya. I think there is too much power in one man for a game that has such deep roots in India. Put the man in order - KICK HIM OUT!

BCCI reaction to Kale and Prataps
by Pankaj on Nov 29, 2003 11:48 AM

Wow, excellent article.
Well thought over and smooth composition.
One of the best part of the article was the comaprision made on BCCI reaction to Kale and Prataps case- one suspended other asked Show-cause...
One article in Rediff I liked since a series of misleading headlines started appearing.
Great work. Good move.

one more so called expert
by shreeju on Nov 29, 2003 11:37 AM

it was amazing how so many people try to become an expert of the game. i do agree that the BCCI need to functions in a more professional and transperent way.but then the so called experts have to learn to write their columns too.what wrong has the 2 selectors done in admitting that they were offered the bribe.the column the writer has done will only make people think twice before coming out in the open about such things.and my dear swaminathan what made u think the selectors asked for money when even kale didnt make the allegations.so much for writing the true facts.and hello you can get a decent flat in mumbai for 15lakhs.and if kale is talented enough dont u think that he can do his best to be retianed in the team for another series.after all there r others who have done that. shiv sunder das is not that talented but he held his place for quite some time and even managed to get into the one day team thakns to the thinking of the selectors.yes i do belive kale should be given a fair chance but to make allegations againsts the selectors wont be the write way to do it.so mr.swaminathan plz do better writing such a cloumn.

Corruption is more at grass root levels
by Ajith on Nov 29, 2003 10:46 AM

To get into senior team you have to be part of junior team. It is here that the corruption is at the most. 90 % of those who play under 19/15 etc are slected by bribe. It is from this pool of "talent" that senior players are selected. No wonder India looses more than it wins..

Thought provoking
by Umesh on Nov 29, 2003 10:15 AM

Mr. Swaminathan,

It was indeed a thought provoking article. I believe as everybody else in India that there is a not a fire beneath but a volcano brewing. It's been time and again proved to everyone that there is corruption in BCCI to a large extent.

Pity is no one (either players nor others) is willing to rise there voice against these attrocities.
