hey prem..

hey prem, what is happening man?? Are u in your senses?? Why have you already decided that India is going to lose and that too, heavily?? Who said India will lose?? Are the Australians unbeatable?? How can the first warm up signal tougher things ahead! Every day is different! You don't encounter the day you had against Victoria to be the same against the "so called invincible Australians". We've not lost yet and we might not lose at all in this series or we might create history by winning the series and set new records! I am not dreaming!! Anything can happen in cricket! In a cricket match, you guys say "the match is not over till the last ball is bowled"!! How come you guys have given up?? U all are not right to be Indians! Always placing a criticism on the selection, the team, the captain, etc.. Can you do what Saurav Ganguly or the selectors do?? Like they say in Hindi "Bak Bak karna aasan hai, lekhin kaam karna mushkil hai!!". I am very confident that India can frighten the hell out of Australia in this series! And I'm sure you guys will praise Indian team like anything..

Well, I dont agree with you Mr Sai. What makes you think that Indians will perform better in the test series?? Its false hopes like these keep a dumb Indian cricket fan glued to the happenings in the Indian cricket. Come on man we are not arguing that Indian Cricketers dont have talent. But the question here is attitude. For sure we are choking at the mere sight of australians. We all forgot the World Cup final as one bad day on the field for Indians ...But what about TVS cup finals in our Own Back Yard?? Time for some serious introspection my dear friend.

is there any hope..
by anang on Nov 29, 2003 07:41 AM

i dont see a point in writing any comments because at the end of the day they go the bin. if i were in the selection committee I would have chosen Munaf patel straight away because he can send some real quickies and you know that a fast bowler has a potential to create havoc..then there is problems with indians that we are never confident..we loose our match before we play..we are cold blooded dead people. i hate to loose against anyone, and i would do anything just to win.is there a killer instinct in any player..missing in the bowlers.shoulders are drooped even before the delievery of first ball.
attitude is everything.
hope we change

very true BUT...
by UD on Nov 29, 2003 06:28 AM

Remember that we could(would) end up losing to strong australian state sides.

Year in year out there is no improvement in the quality of play on fast pitches. Things have come to such a pass that I would rather see them not play state sides at all than lose to them with the glorious aim of getting acclimatised to the conditions. Bah, more like getting acclimatised to losing!

The only reason this side went to the finals of the world cup is that the other international sides are even worse than them. Cant get a state side out within 500 runs... crappy team... 4-0 Australia.

A sense of wisdom that lets every sensible person more frustrated
by S. Sankaran on Nov 29, 2003 05:04 AM

Hello Prem Panicker,

The more wisdom you ooze the more frustrated we all become. The BCCI is ithe biggest joke in this country that has nothing ot do with criket but everything to do with money and its distribution. It stinks with the rest of India that is itching and inching its way to 'progress' with its unmanagable loads of corruption and degeneration in every walk of its life. Please keep spilling those beans of wisdom. Somebody might even pick it up and and start implementing it by accident!

Regards

Sankaran

its right

The board has to be blamed for the schedule that has been finalised and the opposition selected for the warm up matches. When would these highly "INTELLIGENT" and "WISE" people of the BCCI learn.Even a kid will tell you how to prepare for the big games, and these people don't care, they just sit in their "AIR-CONDITIONED" offices make a few quick decisions and go on to relax, get their pay and after the series is over start a minor investigation in to the matters and sack some players(who will be reselected to the team in the very next series) and say their have done the best they could do and put the matter to rest and they take rest in their luxurious offices. I would like to see if they could give the same type of warm up matches and schedule for AUSTRALIA when they visit next time,do they have the guts to do that and say that it is an example of INDIA faced in Australia.NO I think they wont do that, they put the most possible players to be selected to the team to see how they perform(give the australians a good insight of our strength's) and most probably see that everything is served good for the Australians. These people will never do the job they were hired for,not in this life.

Sins of Omission..

PP
Though your article is well written adn incites sentiments against the so-called committee...what were you crictics doing when the schedule was made available few months or weeks back..did you realise this only now or do you rake up such issues when the tour has started?
sensationalism is good..but this is destructive cricticism..whatever way you put it..you wait for the opportunity to pounce..if you had good fro Indian cricket..you should have taken up thi sissue much in advance.
Thanks
