Salutations! O Great One!
by Mithun on Nov 27, 2003 08:08 AM

Hats off to Steve Waugh! There haven't been too many people who have retired on their own terms and when they were at the top of their game like this great man. His story is an inspiration for any person, their association with cricket not withstanding. There's a lesson in his famous innings' for all those who wish to look at it. The self-belief, the passion, the attitude... remarkable and THE best player of his era. Look forward to hearing his views on commentary which I hope he'll take up. Selfishly, hope he is associated with the Indian cricket team in the future in some way or another. Our hopeless guys, (read Zaheer, Sehwag, Harbhajan) will learn something about pride for playing for the country.

When ever there will be talk about plain guts, determination in front the adversity and ruthless winner attitude, Steve Waugh's name shall pop up many times, many years to come. Well done, Steve.
You have made us proud.

Simply put, I dont have words to explain, both the greatness of Steve and at the same time my grief hearing such a great great cricketer retire.
