Steve Waugh

It is a sad day for world cricket. Of all the cricketers there are, none showed as much character than Steve Waugh. We will most definitely miss him.

this is great news...
waugh was a threat to sachin's record of max . no. of centuries...but now our sachin is going to be the first one to cross 34 centuries... but i wonder if wwaugh is in proper state of mind..why is he throwing away a great chance to becoming highest century holder.. beats me man! any way .. i like him cause of the charity work he did in india.. calcutta.... he should do more of it now that he retires...

by C.Balasubramanian on Nov 26, 2003 05:05 PM

hi,
Steve is a genius in cricket,Any side would like to have a Player
of his calibre, but Australian board think alike,he is unfortunate
to miss a place in Aus oneday squad. He must reconsider his decision
about retireing and should tour india.Indain people love not only
his cricket but also the social service. He must tour india and
should retire in india with whom he starte his career. His
affinity towards indian people particularly against poor children
have won many hearts in India. All indians love to see him back in
Aus touring squad to India.
with luv

After January 2004 , whenever Australia are 50/3 or 99/5 the dressing room will never be the same again for there will be no steven waugh in the middle fighting it out !!!

If ever anybody wants to learn how to fight all odds & succeed pls refer to the life & achievements of steven waugh.
I would love to see a book on the life of steven waugh !!

Thanks Steven for all that you have helped us to learn about fighting abilities..

STEVE-THE LEGEND
by rags2riches on Nov 26, 2003 11:52 AM

Steve's a Legend a gritty Legend at that not blessed with Talent that Don had or Sunny showed yet he more than made up for it by his very structured approach, athletism,Gutsy character n visionary yet astute Leadership!!!
WE'll all miss him n the Game of Cricket will be poorer by his pre-mature retirement. One thought he has still a lot to give n play 4 nevertheless in the Media-court he was sentenced a long time ago without a fair trial,so...
IT is an END of an ERA ,Well Played,Mate!!!

A great man and a great player - I'm yet to see
a person who imbibes the teachings of 'The Gita'
better than Steve though I wonder if he's read it
at all.

Steve Waugh : Undoubtedly the ''BEST''
by R.Viswanath on Nov 26, 2003 11:01 AM

Hi

Steve's retirement will be a great moment. Undoubtedly, a fantastic career. He was a player who alsways played when it mattered to his country.

When Mark taylor was in terrible form, and many wanted to write of mark taylor, and taylor's success had to depend largely on steve's batting performance.

What it means is he is a self less cricketer, and iam a big fan of him, to say very early in his career, when many were saying sachin to be the best. Certainly one of the best ever batsman we hve ever seen.

I wish steve and his family the very best, and also his charity work in india should continue for a long long time, so as other rich sports/cine personalities can follow.

with best regards
R.Viswanath
