India's tour of Australia
by Somnath Bhattacharya on Dec 01, 2003 09:50 PM

I really agree with the philosophy that the Indian team is adopting on this tour of Australia. Being positive has hurt no one on the Cricket field, more so against Australia as they are going to score the runs so fast any way that India will always be under pressure. The best way of going about batting in Australia is to smack the loose ball as often as one can. And especially with people like Laxman and Sachin and ganguly who are better off attacking than defending. One sad fact about Indian tours overseas is that they have not even challenged the opposition tactically, we have seen that a team like New Zealand have been able to draw a series in Australia with sheer guts and superior tactics. A bolder approach backed with in depth knowledge of the opposition can really make a difference. I'm not betting on India winning a single match on this tour as India simply does not have the bowling to do so, but surely they can return from this one with their heads held high with a few creditable draws.

battle of words again

As usual...India-Aust series is now turning out in a battle of words..I feel its a good tactic by India to go out all guns in this new field of Morden Cricket.
What more worse could the Aussies face that the man himself saying that he is in a good nick and really looking for a memorable series...
I feel his statements today will give the aussies some sleepless nights....

wonder who is the captain of our team .
my advice ... make tendulakar captain again.. despite of his disasterous record before. he must have surely learnt the lessons, the kind of learner he is!

Sachin is the greatest batsman of an era.

It's lovely to see Sachin's form in the opening form against Victoria in upcoming tough tour of Australia. He has a clear vision in his mind, what he want to achieve in this tour. Probably Sachin is in a good form recently and he has a golden opportunity to prove the critics wrong that he is not as good abroad as he is n indian continents. All the best Sachin for Ausi. tour. Keep the momentum up.

Not enough

I donot share the views of Sachin. India has not performed well abroad in the past even when he was there as a captain. He might have enhanced his personal records but as a team he let them down many times especially in Tests. One series win is not to be considered as good. Let the public judge the perfomance on CONSISTENCY.
