On the contrary ...

Bedi said Sachin gets runs but doesn't stay long enough. Sachin scored 80 in under 2 hours and got out. So in fact Sachin proved Bedi right ! Find out how many times Sachin has lasted one whole day in his 14-year career and you know Bedi is right. Sachin's first 200 came 10 years after his debut and in 108 tests he has got just 2 200's. It clearly shows that while he gets his runs, his inability to stay at the wicket long enough reduces his ability to influence outcome of the match compared to, say, Dravid.

Lets say enuff to Bedi
by Govindarajan on Nov 26, 2003 03:48 AM

The comparison that Bedi makes between Mathew Hayden and Sachin Tendulkar, is like comparing Arnold schwarzenegger and Tom Hanks. We all know how many oscars arnold has won and how many Tom Hanks has. Hayden has 1 world record, how many does Sachin have ? Do we want Sachin to be like Hayden, Ajit Agarkar to be like Goel Garner and Parthiv Patel to be like David Boon with keeper's glowes on.

Mr. Bedi make a positive criticism. Last time I remember you making a controversial statement when Kaif and Yuvraj did well in under 19 team, if they are really under 19 years of age. This time I am hearing you saying something else which is really funny.

For ur age and experience u can generate much better comments and criticism that will not defame wot u earned.

NOTE : Neither am I die-hard fan of Sachin and nor I think Bedi has a successor.

if our own senior players doubt the credibility of the players like Sachin, then what should be expected out of others???

Tendulkar - Long Innings !
by Adolf on Nov 25, 2003 07:56 PM

You say that Temdulkar stayed at the crease for long to score his 80. Are you sure you were watching ths same match ? 80 from Tendulkar ! That's we expect from batsmen like Ramesh, Ganguly .. Bedi is right. Tendulkar hasn't shown that he can stay at the crease and score 200+ very often. If he truly is a great batsman, like the Don, he should have several 200+ scores. To me it doesn't matter whether he takes 1 session or 5 to do it.

when will these people learn??
by Karthik on Nov 25, 2003 07:32 PM

Its really a shame that some people never learn, especially guys like B.S.Bedi... Remember what he said during the World Cup, I think this is his standard way to remain in the limelight... start talking some crap about Sachin, I even remember him talking of some delivery to get Sachin out..Please do stop Bediji, it is most irritating and is not doing any good to your image.. if you think you can get Sachin out ,then please come out of retirement and show it yourself.. because people have stop believing the high fundaes you give.. and please do shut up. And Mr.Dean Jones and Mr.Damien Fleming, Kindly go watch the recordings of world cup, or better still ask a guy called Shoaib Akhtar, supposed to be one of the deadliest bowlers, about his experiences on bowling to Sachin.
Well Sachin way to go!! There is absolutely no doubt that you are the best batsman in the world.. and by playing such classy innings you are only proving the point!!! Bravo, great innings!! All the best for the Australia tourney, I think you can give these guys something to think about!! But still doubtful about Bediji......
