The full episode needs thourough investiation by people of high integrity and the guilty should be severely punished. It looks like the selectors are the guilty party from the full episode and just trying to project a holier then thou attitude.

Re: Selectors & Bribe

Although this is the first incident which has come to press, but as a matter of fact it is neither the first nor the last.

Bribery in cricket team selection is pretty acute disease that the Indian Cricket suffers from right from the clubs to the national team level; and as long as there are 4 non-playing (and 4 non-performing) players in the team the chances are pretty slim that we can get an effective treatment for it.

The question is not whether there should be a investigation into the issue but the more serious question is how many genuine talents have been nipped in the bud without giving any fair chance just becuase somebody wanted the place in the team based on his money/political power rather than the pure talent. So more importantly it is the investigation of talents killed due to this factor that is to be made; and the total loss to the Indian Cricket, I am sure, will be a astronomical figure.

One has to accept the fact that money plays a very important role in the game of cricket, particularly where we have such huge following, otherwise there would not have been the incidences of "match-fixing" in this "gentlemen's game."

cricket menace

the importance given to the game is the main cause

for this probelm. however, false lies both with the

selectors and the players. the integrity of the board

is also not beyond doubt. the solution is to,encourage other games/sports equally. the govt.

should take remedial steps by conducting an un-biased

enquiry.
