Kale's Suspension
by Arpan on Nov 24, 2003 04:53 AM

On what basis has BCCI suspended Kale from all domestic fixtures? Would BCCI take such an initiative had any of the Board officials been in Kale's shoes? No, never! The Board official would still have been allowed to continue & as usual receive his salary at the end of the month! What if the enquiry concludes that Kale is not guilty but the selectors, More & Roy are the actual culprits? Will BCCI compensate for the loss of revenue which Kale had suffered during his suspension tenure? Financial loss is secondary; what about his mental agony & stress? Assuming that Kale is guiltless, can BCCI, in any way, recompense the mental & emotional trauma which Kale was hounded with while the probe was going on? How will BCCI cleanse Kale's tarnished image if he is proven innocent?

It's not that I am supporting Kale; if he has indeed offered a bribe to More & Roy, he should be severely punished without any leniency but why punish him when he hasn't even been proved guilty of the charges that have been levelled against him? After all, More & Roy who have brought this incident to light are no saints!

Money plays role in selection
by Manuel Vaz on Nov 21, 2003 08:08 PM

The suspension of Kale because he offered money to officials for his selection to the India A team is condemnable. Money and political pressure has always played role in the selection process in Indian cricket.
If Kale can be suspended, then why not Aavishkar Salvi, who by virtue of political pressure was selected for the finals of the TVS Cup, when he had not even played one league match in the entire series.

Unfair Allegation

I Think BCCI shouldnot suspend Kale...
These selectors are more corrupted ....
First they should be tried in Court...
Once allegation is proved, then only some action should be taken against kale.

Kale should have been selected

As per the statistics, Kale's first class average of 58.67 is better than all batsment going to Australia tour except Tendulkar. With 6806 runs, 24 centuries and an average of 58.67 to his credit, he deserved a chance to play a test match. Instead, the poor guy has to think of bribing selectors to get into India A team. Aren't the selectors responsible for the situation ? Maybe, Kale thought that is how others with mediocre records get into the teams.

Stand By Kale

Can anybody bribe 1 million each to the selectors. This is really crap, if Kale would have 2 millions i would rather say that he would rather spend on himself then giving the Indian selectors.Don't ruin somebody's future with such false allegation and the board should not suspend him till his crime is proved.
Stop all these and start playing some quality cricket , this is a very good topic to divert India's loss aganist Australia.

Kale Suspended pending inquiry
by k.save on Nov 21, 2003 06:13 PM

Dear sir,

I think Kale was little late. What would have been the situation if he would have announced in press that two of the selectors demanded Rs.10 lakhs for his selction?
