Centurion by conceding runs!
by Muralidhar Rao on Nov 17, 2003 01:24 PM  | Hide replies

This fellow Nehra will not be able to get more than 5 wickets in the 4 test series down under. But as for conceding runs he will do so to humiliate himself and his country by the hundreds. All the Indian bowlers will become centurions in each innings for conceding runs. As for batsmen the only centurion for India will be Sachin Tendulkar. Before every foriegn tour we come across Indian players talking big to Rediff out of great enthusiasm. But when it comes to actual performance on the tour they put themselves to shame. Why don't Indian players just shut up and leave their batting or bowling do the talking?

Don't you understand English? What big has Nehra talked about in this article? Whatever he has opined are undeniable facts, nothing else. Agreed that he had a bad day against Australia in his only game in the just concluded TVS series conceding 80 runs in 10 overs without a single wicket in his kitty but keep in mind that he stepped into the international arena after 8 long months due to injury that made him a bit rusty. I am not justifying his poor performance. Had he bowled against the Kiwis instead after such a long lay-off then his bowling figures wouldn't have been as shoddy as what it was against the Aussies. Then everybody would have praised & complimented him. This is what happens in India!
