dear fleming, What you are talking could be acceptable had the clock was on 1999 . but surely now we dont think we r depending upon him too much. even dravid , ganguly ,yuvraj kaifs are match winners.
When business rules cricket, as it does most everything, and the matches are all 'pre-fixed', it is just a waste of time and energy to discuss/speculate about them. I also agree with the other responder in that no one person can be so hugely credited for the fate of a game played by as many as 11. But then, movies have heroes, so maybe....:)
When Autralia wins the match after blazing start (as in Bangalore) its Australia That wins, But when India wins the match with same kind of start ( as in Hyderabad ) the win is b'cos of Sachin. (as if other team menbers have not done anything) What short sightedness ??? (in same Hyderabad match Dravid has scored the 2nd fastest fifty by an Indian.)
Great article on Sachin's cascading effects on Indian team performance: it couldn't have been more aptly put
But isnt it a shame, that Sachin's teammates have to live off Sachin's dedication. Sachin is well nigh 30 years of age, and at the most, he will be actively contributing to Indian cricket, for another 4 years at the most
But no Indian coach or even the selectors, seem to be voicing (at least publicly) their vision for a Sachin replacement, say two or three years down the line. Not that a replacement for someone of Sachin's caliber is ever possible. But a great deal of grooming, would help in shaping a future Sachin replacement: albeit a 60% Sachin clone would be more than helpful
They are definately playing as a team. it was time when things were not going right for and as a team, but everything has changed now. with the captaincy of sourav, batting like dravid and tendulkar, sourav himself, kaif, yuvi, and bowling like zaheer and nehra and agarkar, and not to forget the improvements in the fielding. everything is very good. only thing is left i guess is , very little of professionalism, very little of that attitude of winning and showing the oppositions a way back to pavilion. they should learn from australian team.
I agree that sachin is the world's best batsman, but this line doesnt hold anymore, now our team is really playing like a TEAM and no more relies on any individuals, one there was a time, when sachin used to fail india used to loose the game definitely, but certainlky not now... our players have gelled very well, as a team.

My dear cricket fan and sachin's lover,
I am not agree with your comment as 'SACHIN IS GREAT PLAYER'. Do you know what is the meaning of GREAT PLAYER?, for that you must see the batting of great fighter like Sir Donald Bradman, Mr. Javed Miyadad, Mr. Brian Lara, Mr. Martin Crowe, Mr. Allan Border, Mr. Desmond Haynes, Mr. Vivian Richards, Mr. Steve Waugh, Mr. Arvinda D'silva, Mr. David Gower etc.
For your kind information, your GREART SACHIN is playing cricket only for making his own records like FORMER GREAT PLAYER SUNIL GAVASKAR, not for serve to our Country.

Do u still think india had gone to final in the WC for teameffort..i do not think so..Sachin has lots of dedication for the team.but u have to admit the effort. One more thing if u will drop 7 cathes in an international final match,i do not think that it is a team effort. Hope u must understand.. One more thing india is not playing to the mark.but team members are not as much as serious. thanx and byebye
