with reference to ur article,I want to post my view.It may be ridiculous but i think its would be my way to make a team perfect. What happens when any of the super batsman is out of form,he is given another chance and this process continues despite of his nil contribution to the team. But they r not treating other players with the same manner prove urself or dump him somewhere else.why this partiality exits in a game that is admired by million of people.According to me if a player dosent prove himself he should be suspended for atleast 10 matches and he should be aloud after a sepearate selection. If a person is going to get his bread and butter without any work it will make him lazy only.I cannot put the correct words to explain it.But i think u would understand my point.
Even after reading so many articles and hearing the Lord's mouth (Sec. of BCCI) about the team and its selection process, we are one among the 11000 fools to watch Indian Cricket. Can we do something concrete? We must petition to SC to bring in a LAW as regards appointment of BCCI chairman / committee members - first they must be cricket players and they should have international cricket exposure (and not money market exposure)and their election should be based on public vote like former crickers, representative of media, present Ranji players etc. This may to some extent reduce mockery of selection process and avoid comments from Austrialian one day captain Ricky ponting - he stated he found it strange to drop Murali Karthik
That was a real eye-opener. I thought I was an expect in ways of cricket, but I forgot that the people sitting high up are all alike. Fools and hungry for money. Just a few months ago I thought we were a great cricket team and Wisden was wrong to put us at 7 or 8 or whatever place they did put us. But the people at Wisden were very right. We are just a bunch of losers. Thanks to the selection committee.
it is sense less to select 20 guys just before four or five days of final list of squad. and also with any performance of thoese didn't consider in the final list. just what they rlooking of kumble.
The team to Australia has been selected. Nothing can be done now. Anyway selection is not going to have any impact on the outcome of the series because we are going to be thrashed there down under. I am only toying with some questions.
1. Is Deepdas Gupta a better keeper than Ajay Ratra or infact is he better than anybody? 2. Is Sehwag a good opener in test matches? 3. Are Kumble & Harbajan better than Murili Karthik at the moment? Why was Karthik selected ahead of Kumble in the finals at calcutta? To please him? 4. Is Avishkar Salvi not going to Australia because he is injured or is he punished for playing a rash Shot in the finals? Why not penalise any other batsmen in the side? 5. Who are going to be our slip fielders? Or slips are still reserved for senior players? Is Laxman going to stand in slips in Australia after dropping catches regularly in last 2 years? 6. Are all the selectors happy with the selection?
I guess Everybody knows the answers except the Selection Committee.
I am very much surprised to see that the indian selectors who had played cricket for longer periods didn't select Murli Karthik inform spinner who has got control over his line and length. They have made a very costly mistake by not selecting him. Left arm spinner has always troubled aussies in their home land. The Recent series against zimbabwe in Australia ,Reymond price took 5 wickets his carrer best against them and also Daniel Vettori had troubled them a lot past yers so we should pic Murli Karthik for Down Under Series instead of kumble or any fast bowler
