Sachin's wicket ...the turning point ??
by Sreedharan. G on Nov 14, 2003 01:50 PM

hi

I dont accept Mr. Ponting's view that Sachin's wicket was the key... although Sachin's innings was a masterpiece... he had played his part in maintaining the run rate at 6 per over....

i thing the wickets of Sehwag and Ganguly were the turning points...Sehwag is sucha person who can bring down the run rate drastically thru his big hits....he was actually doing that before he got out...atleast Ganguly must have takenover the job from Sachinand should have got India through....

anyway...atleast when Sachin was in the middle, there was a fight....

Wicket of Sachin..the turning point??!!
by Dharan on Nov 14, 2003 01:41 PM

hi

Sachin's innings was a masterpiece .... but the wicket of Virender Sehwag and Ganguly were very crucial...sehwag had started scoring runs at a brisk pace in the last over before he was out....he is such a person who can drastically bring down the run rate with some big hits...

and also Ganguly...Sachin had played his part...he maintained a run rate of 6 per over...its the responsibility of the captain to take over from Sachin and he should have seen India achieve that imposing target....

anyway there was a fight atleast when Sachin was in the middle....

Its not enough only sachin to shield, time has come for saurav, sehwag, kaif, yuvraj to raise and play boldly.

Analysis to be done why we are getting butchered repeatedly with aussies. we are not playing thru out with the same vigour.

India can do it. Time has come to strike at Kolkata.

Best of luck

well i really enjoyed the way in which sachin batted and rest the match was fully in aussie favour since the first over was bowled vvs laxman shoiud be given chance only in five days match no way his batting sytle siuts one day game important is that if we compare indian team with aussie team difference can be seen on paper it self .irfan pathen is another young player he shouid be given chance in senoir team in place of vvs laxman. well if it happens indain will improve in cricket
regds to indian teams
best of luck

for Indian cricket team,

take a break, chill out for some time then start practicing. and then at the end if they feel that they can still play cricket then go ahead. Otherwise give us a chance to show out talents, who are struggling since a long time.
All the Best

Dravid's mischance of stumping ricky pointing was the turning point of the game. it proved very costly and we lost the game

Sad performance

With Sachin Tendulkar scoring runs for himself and his sponsors/produts he endorses , srest of the team just watching him . Whats the worth making 89 in 92 balls ( keeping strike rates as per the contract) when you lose the match handsomely.

One remembers Gavaskar. He too made runs for himself, not for the team. For Sachin, the only motivation remains to score as many runs and centuries for himself so that others can't do it. Forget the team.
