i had een a great admirer of Srinath and his contribution to the national side. I wish him a very good and enjoyable future, even without his irst love, international cricket.
we'll miss u sri. uve done an awesum job.enjoy ure retirement. i can never forget ure performance on the south african tour of '96 n the 8 wickets against pakistan. hope to see u as the bowling coach in the future.
About time! Anyway, Bangalore Local Mail did yeoman's service to Indian cricket. I just remeber all those matches we lost in last over where srinath gave new meaning of hope to thousands of cricket fans, none of them Indian. Anyway, Ashish Magotra mentioned in his article that He was spearhead when we did not have any pace bowlers. Srinath started when Kapil, Prabhakar were going strong with Wassan, razdan, ankola, vaidya, shakti singh, along with senior sharmas in the play. soon came Kuruvilla, Mahambrey, Prasad (who is senior to srinath) etc. etc. et all.
adieu to india's only express fast bowler,, i wonder what a quick "hit-the-deck" fast bowler like Srinath would have achieved if he played as much matches on green wickets as Mc Grath or Allan Donald.
one of the greatest indian bowlers, this lion hearted karnataka native has been a excellent inspiration to youngsters.he will be sorely missed but his contribution will always be remembered.
Dear Srinath, Well done all these years you really bowled your heart out. In the beginning the ill treatment you got from senior bowlers did not upset you. You kept your mouth shut just like a true kannadiga. we are known for leaving things to the fate. Any I wish you all the best for your future venturs. mohan
