Mongia as wicketkeeper
by Mukesh Kumar on Nov 14, 2003 12:31 PM

I am very much satisfied with pandit. Mongia is best keeper in India and he should be in the team. Patel is young will mature with time. Can anybody explain why we always favors for Deep Das. He is worst keeper and average batsmen, not better than partiv and mongia...

Pandit backs Mongia's Claim
by Shaikh, R.A. on Nov 12, 2003 12:48 PM

Even, I and all Indians should support Mongia as a wicket keeper. I do not understand why Parthiv Patel has been given the responsibility of wicket keeper, instead Rahul Dravid is doing the better job of w/k than Patel. Patel is mostly leaving the ball or missing to stump the ball on time. Is there any body behind him who has supported him to come in the team. Please do the changes soon and appoint Mongia, Pandit or any other w/k and also given chance to Irfan Pathan as our dear Srinath has retired from our team.

mongia
by santosh on Nov 11, 2003 11:44 PM

i cant understand the credibility of pandit for recommending mongia as one of the best in business.pandit could not find a permanent place for himself .mongia was always suspicious and his contributions have been buried due to his behaviour.mongia should not be selected as there are many youngsters waiting in the wings.

Nayan Mongia
by Krishna on Nov 11, 2003 10:17 PM

Nayan Mongia is the best wicketkeeper in India right now, no doubt about that.
But it is his temperament that fails him.
I still remember the crawl that he and Prabhakar put on in a one day match against the West Indies when there was victory in sight.
His commitment to the game is a big question mark.

Bad finish!

The article was just so-so. I can understand because it was just a news relayed over. But what the hell about the last line. I don't even want to waste my time commenting on it. It's wrong, and stupid.

Mongia is the best gloveman
by Dennis on Nov 11, 2003 12:25 PM

It is surprising and indeed many might think this way when you dont find mongia donning the gloves for India. He is indeed the best man behind and as well in front of the wicket, he doesnot have to prove it. Parthiv is very young and Ajay Ratra is good behind the stumps, but when comparing with Mongia they have a long way to go. Why??? are we ignoring Mongia, is the question among cricket lover in this country. If it is the age factor, i think there are a lot of people who should not be in the team. If Gilchrist is the best keeper for Australia, he did not bump into the cricketing world before Healy retired. Healy was a very good keeper and gilchrist had to wait for the right time to play for the Aussies. Likewise it is high time for Mongia to play through his peak for India rather waste value time and talent proving his prowess to a few who think otherwise. I and many would like to see Mongia donning the gloves for India in Australia and also bat against some steely bowling. India needs to take the best team to pose a win against the world champions.

by ranjan on Nov 11, 2003 11:54 AM

Hello did u forget the match manoj prabhakar and mongia played !! And hello ! lets not waste time in discussing this. Two former best keepers kirmani and more are there in selection panel, they know thier job. Just have trust in them. At last No mongia pleaze he is the most selfish player i have ever seen in my life.
