Irfan Pathan produced many devastating spell in the U-19 tournament in Pakistant. He is the only fourth bowler who has claimed 8 or more wickets in the shorter version of the game. After all 7.3-3-16-9 is no achievement. But the point is whether even this kind of outstanding performance would fetch him a place in the national XI. He has been in limelight for last 2-3 years. He has done exceedingly well on various tours with India A etc. but I wonder what is stopping the selectors to induct him in the Indian XI. Avishkar Salvi has already been given the chance and now when he got injured, even then instead of calling Pathan, they called Agarkar again.
I hope the young boy would finally get the reward of a performance which even many who has played for the country can only dream of.
