Indian team for the rest of the games of the Tri series.
by bikash on Nov 06, 2003 12:04 PM

I think it would be better if a seamer included in the indian squad instead of a spinner since anil kubmle will not be available. The india team needs to accelerate their temperment while chasing.

inclusion of extra pacer instead of spinner
by PANKAJ MOHAN DIXIT on Nov 04, 2003 11:14 PM

i think that nehra and agarkar, both should be included in the team as kumble is out for the nz-tie.sairaj should be kept out as sehwag ,yuvraj, sachin can play good role as bowlers.
laxman should not be send ahead of dravid .he should retain his n0.4 slot.zaheer must be up the order ahead of harbhajan. the main drawback in the indian lineup is the tailender's batting. once 6-7 wickets have fallen ,tailenders should be asked to do pinchhitting.

what i suggest is india should play with at least three minimum fast bowleres when they play aganist
australia.... one more thing is that now the time is come up for search of a good quality spinner...

No free speech!
by Muralidhar rao on Nov 04, 2003 01:11 PM

After every article rediff says share your comments. Obviously Rediff does not like most of my comments. So they resort to selecting the ones they like and not posting the ones they dislike. In other words there is no freedom of free speech in rediff.com. Its like under the emergency regime of the late Prime Minister Mrs.Gandhi. They never posted the comments I made in favour of young Balaji. They don't post most of my messages because it probably hurts them so much and makes them mad with rage. There could not be any other reason since I don't use abusive language.

good one
by arun sharma on Nov 03, 2003 11:10 AM

that's a good one ...we need to take some early wickets instead of exposing our main weapons in Bhajji and Jumbo in early overs to save runs....best of luck 2 Nehta

Treat players with respect!
by Muralidhar Rao on Nov 02, 2003 07:44 PM

Poor Balaji has been made the scapegoat once gain. This is so callous and disrespectful on the selectors'part. This young boy was not even tried in a match. How will India know about his potential if he is not tested? Even Zaheer was yanked around like a junior bowler by Gilchrist at over 10 an over. How much worse can Balaji get? As if the Australians are going to quiver with fear because of Nehra's inclusion. Nehra has not been tested yet. It would not be a surprise if Nehra gets injured again given his poor physical frame. They should have retained Balaji also and tried him and Nehra together along with Kartik and rested Zaheer, Harbhajan and Kumble for the next 2 matches.Zaheer, Harbhajan and Kumble failed even on a pitch that helped bowlers. Only Agarkar was successful.

Nehra Replaces Balaji
by Rajesh on Nov 02, 2003 03:24 PM

Balaji did not play a single game & was replaced, thats not fair to him, either Zaheer or Agarkar should have been replaced to Accomodate Nehra and also Parthiv should be dropped from the one day squad, he is not as comfortable as he is in tests, other hard hitting WK 's should be given opportunity.
Also when Saurav returns Sehwag should be given rest.
