TRIANGULAR SERIES
by Ronil Verma on Nov 02, 2003 11:04 AM

I think India has played well, infact batting second in a day night match always been a tough task. But I indian side need to be improved, better plan has to take.I think Ganguly can in place of Parthiv and Nehra should be in for Harbhajan/Kumble.
Make more effective, Indian board should search for wicket keeper batsman for oneday specailly, like Australia has gifted player like Ghilchrist. Our selectors should be more serious in selection of players.

thanks

Kangaroos kills the flying Peacocks
by Anil Pradhan on Nov 02, 2003 10:25 AM

Indian team's confidence and over judgment seems to be their downfall. And this is not only the first time. After all it's a teamwork. So what if the Captain's out...things could have been under control but playing with haste makes waste, which the Indian team never seems to understand. Saching stands tall when he is required and he does his part well and then what about the others? When wickets fallen at a fast pace, then Indian team should have changed their strategic and play till the end. But they wanna wrap things faster than expected. And if this goes on, not having enough adrenalin to judge moments of glory, then fans like me will also have to curse the team for their stupidity

3 lifes for tendulkar?
by umashankar on Nov 02, 2003 08:24 AM

I read this column and was really surprised to what was reported about three lives for TENDULKAR.
Please understan that a catch dropped is considered as alife and not a mistimmed hook.

I cant imagine you guys being so much anti TENDULKAR!!!!

Yesterda's Debacle!
by Prabal on Nov 02, 2003 07:59 AM

The Aussies wre without their main bolwers like Shane Warne, Brett Lee and Macgrath, thus a team depleted while the Indian Team was without their Emperor Sourav and in this way both the teams can best be called mediaocre team. But Assuies again proved that they rule. Rahul stuborness in taking uninitiated, unproven and worthless Parthiv as the wicket keeper led to India's stupendeous downfall. Will somebody tell that Dravid is 3rd rate wicket keeper himself but that Ganguly relegates him there to make way for a bastman knowing the inherent weakness of the tail-enderd to even hold the bat properly. RAhul must be dismissed from the Indian Team for his foolish audacity!

ODI against Aus-Mumbai
by P R Sampath on Nov 02, 2003 07:36 AM

Indian players Shewag,Tendulkar, Laxman, Dravid and Yuvraj have gifted their wicket by poor strokes. They all fell to playable balls only. There was no determination to win this game against Australia. So called world class batsman Sachin was struggling to score runs these days, he must be dropped from the side as all these players thing that India is depending on them. Sachin also bowls shabilly and he is not at all a threat to Aussies. Moreover Indian players go for a particular stroke and fall. They dont try other strokes if they dont succeed with some strokes. The present Indian team with their attitude can even lose against Bangaladesh. They are all there in the team with past glories and records.Yuvraj and kaif are there in the side for their fielding abilities. They are not possesing any quality of international players.
The bowling department too needs a change.Zaheer and Kumble are no more threat to opponents. Both must be dropped from the side and new bowlers must be tried.

Unless Board try to include new players and decide to play with old players I am sure India will never ever emerge as the best Opponent. This is the time for the Board to try new players for WCUP 2007.

Faisal at it again
by yasho on Nov 02, 2003 07:25 AM

As usual Faisal started sharpening his pencil as soon as Sehwag got out. When a ball falls short of the fielder Tendulker gets a life and when it is an australian it is a well placed shot finding the gap. When a decision goes against India Faisal shuts his eyes and breaks his pencil but when it goes in favor of India, he starts crying tears of blood. I see the same thing in Video commentary box. Australian commentrator keep on tearing Indian cricket and Indian commentrators say sir can you do more of this ridiculing. God bless Indian journalists and commentrators for what a great job they are doing. Come on guys, we the fan of Indian cricket despise you guys.

ODI at Mumbai
by G Mookerjee on Nov 02, 2003 06:28 AM

What Clarke and even Yuvraj could do with the ball.the famous spin twins of India could not.Is it not time to give a chance to Murli Kartik and Romesh Powar. And it seems Sewag has taken his place for granted. We are heading for a horrid time at Australia inspite of our greats.

Still a lot of homework to be done by indians....
by Anand on Nov 02, 2003 05:44 AM

Aussies r aussies. They proved it again here in mumbai. Aussies outperformed indians inspite of the absence of their specialist bowlers - Lee, Mc Grath. I really didn't expect a win for india with a such a huge total to chase, however it was quite annoying to see indians lose all their batsmen after the dismissal of the little master. Yet again, a point has been made clear. 'Need for all rounders'. Atleast indians shouldn't have let aussies grab the bonus point :-(. Hats-off to Dravid who has again proved his consistency in his ODI batting.
