Shoaib is punished for 2 matches for tampering,Its O.K.....

Had Brett lee did the same ICC will redefine the defnition of ball tampering and finally conclude that "what brett lee did brings excitement to game(like sledging) and its inherent part of game.Ball tampering is done with bat".

Racism in cricket/Shoaib
by Amitabh on May 30, 2003 12:18 AM

I think there is definite racism in cricket. The Australians seem to get away with more than any other team would. But that doesn't change the fact that what shoaib did was wrong. While sledging is wrong, and swearing at your opponent is bad behavior, it is not a form of cheating. Ball tampering is. How often has a team won a game just because of sledging? doesn't talent and performance have something to do with it? Ball tampering can directly affect the outcome of a match, pakistan has been warned before about ball tampering, pakistan did ball tampering, thats more than enough reason to punish them. And the fact is that Pakistan is of ball tampering AND sledging. The aim here should not be to get pakistan off because australia got off, but it should be to ensure that Australia also gets punished because pakistan did. Shoaib should get off because the ICC has some narrow minded officials, what he did was wrong and shamed not only the game, but his country too. Maybe it's time someone told him that rules are not meant to be broken. Cricket can go on without him, but where would he be without cricket.

Suspend Shoaib
by Amitabh on May 30, 2003 12:08 AM

Shoaib was just disciplined for bad behavior very recently and yet he has the audacity to do something like this. Obviously there is a total disregard for the governing body of cricket. If he is not punished more stringently, what guarantee is there that he won't do it again? what he did was blatant cheating. He is valuable to international cricket but he isn't bigger than the game. So he should be punished in such a way that he can still play the game, but the penalty will set a precedent for the future and maybe he'll learn to respect the law a little more. Also, there should be some sort of fine on the team because pakistan have done this sort of thing in the past, and its obvious that they aren't doing enough to discourage this sort of practice in the future. Maybe people like shoaib may also be discouraged to do this in the future if the team is penalized. The ultimate aim of this process shouldn't be to pick on a certain team or player, but to make sure that this sort of thing doesn't happen in the future, with any team.

Yeh Guys, Why are you bothering about all these. Is anything going to be changed on your efforts. Nothing
few people are going to be rich, few people are going to more rich from this game. that's it simply that's it. Be creative.

shoaib

Cricket has become white man game. You cannot apply one rule for a particular race and ignore it for another.Shoaib was banned for trying to do some modifications to the ball. but what about glenn mac grath.he got away with sledging with ram naresh sarwan. Some of the umpires are also biased. they try to favour home side(usually in favour of white team) and the visiting team loses or draws a match thanks to the biased umpiring.this should be checked to protect the interest of cricket lovers. It happened in australia.Eventhough tandulkar was not out,he was given out.It happened with pakistan as well. They were winning one match.Wasim was bowling and there was loud noise(clear of the bat) but the umpire was unmoved.
