by Srinivasang on May 28, 2003 05:59 PM

It's high time that guys like akhtar shud be debarred from playing cricket. If ICC does this thing,it will be like setting example for others. If they let off by suspension of matches that too only 2 matches then there is no way stopping this guys.

It is not for the first time trhat Shoib is repoted for tempering the ball. but what was the outcome of previous illegations. I think it is just the same thing like that of Sachin.

Akhtar has proved again and again that he is unfit for Gentle mans's game. Its high time that cricketing authorities take a strict action against him. These kind of mischieves on the field is highly unacceptable. Vishy, plzzzzz punish him properly!!!!!

no new thing for pakistan team
by Mihir Vaidya on May 21, 2003 11:45 AM

Ball Tampering is not a new thing for Pakistan team there has been many instances of ball tampering previously but either they have been just warned or given ban for one or two matches.Say if it had been a Indian than the case would be something else. I think Shoaib Akthar should be banned from the cricket as this is not the first time he has been caught for the first time .

Ball Tampering

Isnt it ironical that this news comes just a day after Rediff interviews his mentor on his ball chucking. This is not the first time he has been caught tampering the ball.

This clearly shows the amount of "Talent" this rawalpindi express in him.

i really do not think that impostion of ban on any player on an accusation of ball tampering is that necessary, as in the early 90s players used hair oil applied to their hair to get that extra shine on the ball, which went unnoticed by the ICC or the match refrees. later players did tamper the ball which could not be caught by the cameras, and many a times this concept came up before the ICC but what precautions have the ICC taken to curb such practices and only fingers are pointed out at only those who are seen or caught by the technology and the others go scotfree.

banning or suspension of match fee can no longer be a punishment for the players. the players get 100 or 1000 times more from the commercials as compared to match fee and banning them is giving them a legalised rest.

therefore i strictly feel that players should vow to have spirit of sportmanship and play the game in right spirit and strive to maintain the dignity of the game they play.

Ball tampering...

Its very surprising that the match refree has asked for a time after have each and every evidence required. Take an example of Sachin, when TV replays showed that the seam was been cleaned, however the match refree had no hesitation is implying his verdict on the little Master.

It has always been the case where the ICC has different rules entirely implimented for Indian Cricketers.. Hats off to such people setting up the rules and differentiating the teams...

No future punishment...Just hit on present...
by Viren on May 21, 2003 11:19 AM

Instead of Ban or Panalty, we need to take Prompt action.
We need to incorporate, Yello-Red card system.
As soon as one found breaking LAW, we need to give them Penalty FOR CURRENT GOING MATCH.

--> One point i want to put is : Player should not be allowed in Current Going match also to break Law...

Otherwise Opposition team of current match will get Suffer.

What u think ??
