Srinath retires
by Kaushik on May 20, 2003 09:24 PM

It's sad that we will not see him play for the country again. However, we must agree that with the amount of wear and tear his body has faced, we should respect his decision. However, the BCCI should take his services regarding coaching in India.

Indian Cricketers Doesnt care for Indian Cricket.
by Saradhi on May 19, 2003 05:24 PM

Srinath is caching Bolwers in SA.
Sachin ran to USA for his small finger operation with the cost of BCCI. He is not able to find a professional doctor in India who can operate his small finger . Its shame for so called patriote, great player, Cricket icon who is always hungry for runs and hate seeing India loosing to treat Indian doctors like this one. Instead of this , he might have joined in a famous Indian Hospital like AIIMS or something in Mumbai and can ask for the help of a professional doctor from abroad if he really needs him. OOOphhhhhhhhh. What a tragedy???

We heard Rahul Dravid signed for Scotland instead of playing domestic cricket in the gap he had and still says its only for fun , not serious cricket. If it is for fun , why he has signed for Scotland?? Instead of it, he can play in domestic cricket and/or join in professional coaching camps and can teach young upcoming boys. He signed for Scotland only because he gets handful of money. This is what patriotism in their minds.
Patriotism is not all about waving the Indian flag when they win.
You have to show the patriotism on the things you are doing outside Cricket field also.

srinath !
by gautham on May 19, 2003 06:44 PM

i was a big fan of srinath until i realized he couldnt bowl an outswinger !. although he developed it after many years he still relies on those useless inswingers. his slower ball is so slow that it wont even reach the other end. he bowls 6 of them in one over ;-) srinath is certainly not in the same class as mcgrath, donlald, ambrose, akram

Re: Srinath retires from First Class Cricket

Hi

Your article says that Srinath played in the test series in New Zealand. Actually Srinath played just the one-dayers and not Tests. I thought only Prem Panicker and Faisal Sheriff goof up writing articles, but it seems even reports are goofed up these days.

Proof read your articles in future.

Error!!
by Kuntal Shah on May 18, 2003 02:23 AM

There is error in Srinath's LOI batting numbers, which
shows one century and several 50s, while his highest
is 53 and total runs less than 1000!!

Srinath is still required for at least a couple of seasons
by Koustav Lahiry on May 18, 2003 12:26 AM

Srinath, an all time great fast bowler produced in India, has proved his presence in the Indian squad a number of times. It can't be ignored that at present the Indian eleven looks a promising side to top the list. At this juncture when Zaheer, Asish, Agarkar, etc are showing the sign to shoulder the Indian pace bowling department, a living legend like Srinath must be with them to guide them properly not only with skills but with the match temperament too. He is no more alone in the team to strike against the opposition as such being used in small spells he can still show his great skill. We need his presence still in the team. Lastly, with the last stamp of being nervous in the world cup final he should play against the Kiwis and Aussies to prove that he is really one of the greatest. So, dear Sri, please continue for at least a couple of seasons more to see that your team is right on top.
Best wishes
Yours truly
Koustav
(dreaming to be a fast bowler)
