sehwags poor run

i am not surprise by his performance since he is belongs to shrikanth school of batting, at the same time i feel he should awar about his own potential & ply sensibly and some-extent selfishly (is't it SUNIL MADHAVMANTRI GAVASKAR ?)

Bouncy pitch - the graveyard of indian cricket!
by adi on May 16, 2003 06:13 PM

Let us get one thing clear in our minds. Apart from Sachin and Dravid, there's no one in our team who can 'decimate' a bowling attack on a foreign pitch.

Sehwag is another typical indian batsman. Though he has the rare away century to his name(that too on debut) he has not lived up to that innings again. And it is our folly that we expect him to play like Sachin just because he resembles Sachin!

Please don't hype Sehwag so much. Let him take his space and time and grow into a mature opener. India desperatley needs someone who can accompany Sachin onto the pitch for the first ball overseas.

Sehwag has shown potential, but hasn't yet come to terms with bouncy pitches. He is still shaky outside the off stump. Glenn McGrath will get him like a sitting duck in that region. A bit of criticism and proportionate training should see sehwag become a good player.

But who knows! indian cricket has always sprung surprises. Hope this time round the surprise is in a pleasant flavour for Sehwag and for us.

Cheers!

Sehwag needs to play sensibly
by rishi on May 16, 2003 01:32 PM

well looks like sehwag is having trouble this year.i sincerely hope he doesn't turn into the next Afridi and instead play sensibly rather than throwing his wicket cheaply otherwise it would be curtains for him if he continues in the same fashion when he plays for india.
