Iwas hoping that he would try for 250 Test Wickets, particularly in Australia, where he has a good chance of picking up wickts.Given the wickts he bowled on,his contribution has been outstanding
Its just funny that srinath is wanted as a coach in SA. He is a good bowler no doubt but i cant imagine him coaching others. Its going to be interesting and funny.
This must be the biggest joke ever. South Africa with its rich crop of fast and successful bowlers has to use the services of the biggest flop of the 90's. Srinath has failed in every big game and every big test abroad. His only match winning spell in 11 years came on a dust bowl and it took him ages before he could bowl a yorker or a slower delivery. Amidst all this , not once did he show the command over line and length that is necessary for a successful fast bowler and always strayed all over the place.
The only good thing about all this is for indian cricket. Hope Javagal never decides to do any 'service' to indian cricket. Let him kill possible South African successes. That is good enough for us...
This is unfair to all the Indian cricket enthusiasts. Why on earth does Srinath want to go and develop fast bowlers in SA!! Wasn't Fannie De Villiers employed sometime back to consult with Indian fast bowlers? The point is that SA has enough coaches and bowling geniuses of their own. We do not. If common sense has any sense, Srinath should be developing fast bowlers in India.
It is very Unfortunate and sad for not only indian cricket but for every indian that he is retiring from international cricket.and it is shame For BCCI as well for their treatment towards senior cricketers.
it wud be better for srinath if he could take the pain of coaching the youngsters in the country the art of fast bowling as we need it more than anyone else. lets not forget that srinath himself had horned his skills at the mrf pace academy under dennis lillee's guidance and it wud be a great opportunity for the youngsters in the country to benefit from the experience that he has gained from playing international cricket.
