Sweet sound of record breakage
by Suvradeep Basak on May 15, 2003 10:17 AM

It was a very satisfying and soothing experience for the West Indies to post the highest 2nd total ever batting second. And a win.
The previous one by India was also against the West Indies.
And they did it against the best attack.
They are capable of doing much more. But they have taken a beating in the last decade with a slump in confidence.

They should give everything for the opening test of every series....and this applies for India too.Initial loosing in any series hampers the psyche of the boys. This had been happening with India also in their foreign tours.

Keep it up.
Cheers,
Suvradeep Basak

Raise the level of cricket
by Austin on May 14, 2003 11:03 PM

The west-indies have shown thai if you block yourself from australian sledging and concentrate on the job , nothing is impossible.

This is a example for all teams to raise their level of cricket.

This west indies team looks a lot balanced. I would say that they are learning faster than any team.
They missed the 3rd test by a wisker.

Truely a Historic win.
by karma Tenzin on May 14, 2003 08:01 PM

This is with reference to the lately concluded fourth test match between Windies and the mighty Aussies in which the Windies prove out beating the Aussies. It was truely a scintillating and a satisfactory win both for the Windies and possily for the rest of the Cricketing world.

The win reminds that Australians are just nothing but a mere sledger in the intensely built pressure. Just refer to the media declaration of Glean Macgrath sledging the fighting Sarwan( only god Knows what exactly went wrong). It must have shocked the cricketing world, when the higly rated and respected player like Macgrath behaved quite abnormally.

Kudos both for Chanderpaul, sarwan and the other tailenders for now creating the doubt in the much talked mightiness of the Aussies. The windies captain is also congratulated for the good strategy and tactic employed for creating such a record and everything.

Now the one dayers wait for both the team and I expect Windies to fight in the same manner. Please make a point to punish Bretlee this time. Sarwan, chanderpaul and others definitely have a hugen potential.

It has become a practice for Australian's to lose their last encounter. It may be incidental.
Any way cheers to Shiv Narain Chanderpaul and Ram Naresh Sarawan and Omari Banks and Vasber Drakes for their determination in record breaking win. This win should be begining for turnaround of fortunes for West Indies Cricket under the leadership of Brian Lara

Kudos to Brian and his co.

It was a fantastic victory. Lara and co. showed the courage and straitened their back to beat the world champions in a true champion spirit with record breaking fourth innings.

Well Done WI
by Aravind, India on May 14, 2003 02:18 PM

Its been wonderful match, cheers!!! to West Indies cricket team. If u notices Australians cannot control themself when they are going into the shell and they start talking and pointing out batsmen to distract the player concentration (e.g.: finger-pointing incident between fast bowler Glenn McGrath and West Indies batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan) this is not just one instant with McGrath. A win is just not enough behavior is also required. I strongly thing the entire fast bowler in the world must learn from Wasim Akram.

Best way to beat Australians needs 3 things i.e. 1. Attack. 2.Attack & 3.Attack.
