The fact that you are comparing Tamil Nadu (State) to MUMBAI (city) tells its story. I personally believe that there is big time resurgence of cricket in south. With all the facilities coming up its bound to increase the numbers. Mumbai has had its share of dominance and will still produce, brilliant players. If it weren't for the quota system, players like Amol Muzumdar, Sameer Dighe, Sairaj Bahutule and Paras Mahambrey would have made to the team. Anyway, its nice to see the reserve bench getting stronger for India, no matter where the players come from.
Well all States that consider themselves as constituting the South will be preparing to cheer a big "welcome home!" to the trophy. On a more serious note, though Bombay is not the terror is used to be, it still remains most consistently the "team to beat" in Ranji. Not to take away anything from the performance of the brilliant Tamil Nadu team. But the team to beat has not been beaten yet!
And finally, of course I do not believe that TN's victory would be a win for the South. It is a win for cricket!
It is 5 days game, and just lead of fist inning is not going to ensure the victory for TN. I still believe Mumbai will bounce back in second inning and will make TN out in their 2nd inning.
