what do you mean?
by yusuf1 on Apr 01, 2003 06:44 PM

what do you mean that the cricketers should take a break and rest.what i mean to say is that they are in good form and taking a break will mean that they will lose their current touch.

Mr. Kumble, you ask for REST?
by Sachin on Apr 01, 2003 03:22 PM

Looks like Jumbo wants to continue in his mode of REST being carried over from the Worldcup. I think it is time that he lays to rest his ambitions of returning back to the ONE day arena.

No one can ever forget the entertainment he provided with the hit-wicket against New Zealand in the tour before the world cup. You just cannot expect any thing of this sort from a person who has played in 200+ ODIs.

Interesting..

Rest for Tendulkar, Dravid and Srinath is understandable..
i am guessing what was Kumble doing in World Cup that he wants a "rest" ...
2 matches and he is tired ... hmmmmmmm
Frankly.. its high time he tired.. he was a great bowler but not any more..batsmen have sorted him out and as some commentator said "they use to play him as a spinner and got out..now they play him as a slow medium pacer and wallop him.." He doesnt relly spin the bowl and with more pace friendly wickets he is ordinary or lesser
Anil.. retire in glory rather than playing and spoiling your reputation..

I dont agree with dev. Anil was an very active in practise sessions. He didn't got the chance to play. He was considered against paK and an outstanding performance came from him. When India lost world cup, Anil's name was also heard and many argue that anil is good in brakeing partnerships...Anil should have played in world cup instead of some single digit scoring batsmen.

ya anil some times does fast bowling also. But, ultimately he bowls good. In this world cup bajji was also using speed balls!

He is the 1st indian bowlwer to take 300+ wickets in ODI's.

He Took all 10 wickets in an innings that too against pak.

These are major achievements. He cannot be ignored.

rest for senior players
by GEORGE C on Apr 01, 2003 12:36 AM

i strongly feel the senior players of the indian cricket team deserve a short break from the hassles of international cricket.
it also allows the national selectors to give a try at a few new faces who are to be groomed early , keeping in mind the 2007 world cup.
