Mr. Tendulkar - U have earned enough money
by sraina on Mar 31, 2003 06:04 PM

Now that these players have filled their banks with loads of money they have lost interest in playing. That is what differentiates Australia from us. They have reserve palyers as strong as the main team members and every one in the team has to compete fiercely for his position irrespective of their performance. It is Australia that has won the World Cup and not India. They are ready to take on the West Indians shortly while our team thinks that they have done a favour to the BCCI by reaching the finals. I am sure that these players want to take an off from the cricket for fulfilling their endorsement contracts. That is where the money is. BCCI should decide who should play in the team and not leave it to the whims and fancies of the cricketers. Tendulkar knows that he can dictate terms to the BCCI and is taking advantage of the crazy fan following that he has. His position in the team is secure so he can earn money through endorsements. The fans in India have a short memory. They have forgotten what score Sachin made in the finals.

Our players are having a very tough schedule. It is time we rest them for some times. Pick up a new squad based on the Duleep trophy match performers. So that we can build a good squad of youngsters for the next world cup.

Senior players may skip Dhaka

I think it would be unfair if our main players would skip this tournament for the bangladesh cricket players. After their poor performance in the world cup this is a good oppurtunity for getting back their confidence and we should support thwm.

Other Players will get a great opprtunity!

Potential players like Mongia, Agarkar, Bangar and Parthiv Patel now have a great opportunity to show themselves against South Africa...and have a good practise match agaainst Bangladesh while Sachin, Dravid, Kumble, Srinath and Nehra take good rest! Looking at Australia...a couple of players were injured and rested in the World Cup, yet they remained a 100 per cent...India too, should show the world that it does not just rely on some individuals rather plays as a unit and is flexible enough!

It is the time to take rest for the senior players and also the ideal time to give opportunities to some of the juniors to perform.
