Why most academies have weekend's HOLIDAY
by swapnil asnani on Apr 02, 2004 02:03 AM

I cannot understand why there so much holidays provided in most of the academies? If a student is coming from some different state or what so ever he should be made to work hard in the academies provided with some good techniques and should be moulded in such a way that a coach should make him 100% player without any gaps

Selection Process

It would be interesting to know from Brijesh how he says that the selection process is pretty good, given the fact that regional bias and quota system still prevails ( Brijesh may not agree to this, but it is blatantly evident from the selections so far). Take the case of Ajit Agarkar, who always finds a place in the team, even if he continues to fail. Also, why should they choose Virender Schewag to open in test matches, when it is clearly known that he is most suited for one dayers. Why can't they continue with S.S.Das and S.Ramesh to continue to open in the test matches? This pair, you look at the records, have done well and all other experiments on 'opening' in test matches have failed, in comparison.
I am a great fan of Brijesh, when he was playing test cricket. I am sure, he would remain a firebrand in selection committee, as well.
All the best.

Selection still Biased

Brijesh Patel may say what he wants but like his predecessor Cahndu Borde , he is no different when it comes to slection policies.

Take the A team for instance. How can one justify the inclusion of Vijay Bhardwaj,Sriram,Rohan Gavaskar. We have a series in Australia coming up? Where do you think these guys fit in? Wouldnt it have been prudent to try Ramesh,Tilak Naidu/Deep,Bahutle/Powar or even another promising youngster. Only goes to show Brijesh has been sucked into the Quota system and can blabber what he wants in this interview. Te truth is out there for all to See! Do some good work for a change Brijesh!Atleast explain the rationale behind these desicions.

I think that Mr.Brajesh Patel has been very boastful in the manner in which he has claimed far fetchsd goals for the Indian Cricket Team.

Why Do U even talk about Replacing John Wright?
by Gagandip Chandpuri on Jun 11, 2003 03:15 PM

Hi its very discouraging to note that all the journalist have one question to the BCCI why wasn't John Wright replaced? First of all why do you want to replace him and that too with Dav Whatmore who has been sacked by Sri Lanka. Don't get this crap into BCCI's head as they alreay have made a blunder with Le Roux. If John Wright is replaced before the next World Cup we will be seeing only downhill. Cmon guys be positive.

Glad to see that cricket in india is getting its act together, too bad that there are only 11 players who make the final xi so there is bound to be some heart burn from certain quarters.Should Laxman have been favoured over Mongia etc.

I think the question was,why wasn't DavWhatmore selected for India A team, not the senior team. It had been talked about for some time that Dav would be coaching the India A side.

I found the artilce interesting and must congratulate the Selectors and Board for these initiatives. here is one suggestion for Mr. Brijesh Patel, just like the health records of any patient can we not have a health record maintained by each trainer /coach during various stints, right from his early days. This will really help the player and the coaches to understand where he has improved and where he needs development.

Selection Process pretty good

I think it was a good interview of Mr.Patel. I wish to know the procedure for a youngster to enter in this cricket academy at Bangalore. This will help many talented youngsters to apply in the academy. Many cricket academys are there in Delhi which are being run by ex-cricket players many of them have represented India. But there main aim to make money only and not really do any thing in concrete for the youngsters.
