So ?

So whats the big deal ?
Does the editor of this article think that this Indian Origin guy think that he is Indian or does he even contribute his success to Indian origin.

I am quite dissapointed the way this petty things are projected.Let me tell you, none of these Indians who have been living in a different country since their birth are proud to be Indians.

Did you ever ask them, weather they would dedicate their success to Indian origin of his fore fathers ?
What did they say ?

They dont liked to be called a desi

Indians who have settled abroad are called desis. They are typical Non-Indians.They dont like the name of India attached to their heritage. They identify themselves as foreigners to India.Because India is a poor country and we have nothing much to offer for the western world's interest, they despise us.They even take umbrage to be called desis. Then why should we go after them and introduce them as a Desi to our own people. They dont even care to know what happens in India, they don't even care to talk to fellow Indians when they see them on the streets here. Why do we crave to have their love.I can guarantee that very few people would be taking up dual citizenship. They dont even want to be called an Indian citizen if provided a chance. Its high time we realise these things.Imraan khan or dighen verma, doesnt make much difference to our country. Our country doesnt make much difference for them either.

What is the big deal
by raghu on Jun 11, 2003 02:35 AM

What is the big deal about somebody becoming under Ninteen capteen of South Africa, It is at best elgible for a note in the cricket section. Not as
a headline on the main page.
There are better things that can be covered, And bigger accomplishments. Do not belittle your news organization with such silly topics.
Your value is dependent on the stories you choose
and their priority, how they make a difference to your readers.

by Ramana on Jun 11, 2003 01:25 AM

Dear fellow country men and women,
We need to very proud of indians becoming success in other countries and leading teams. This is not a new achievement by an indian, but one more feather to our cap. Hope to see more of these kind of wizards.
