No shortage of pace bowlers
by Abhinav on Jun 17, 2003 12:12 AM

Dear sir,

What India has been craving for is a genuine Fast bowler and not the ones who just run and bowl well.Bowlers like Balaji, youhanan and many more do not have the arsenal required. We have all seen how they have been butchered in games by better teams. What we need is a Brett lee or a Shoaib. Its high time someone rattled the Australians DownUnder
in Indian colors.

No shortage of pace bowlers

Madan Lal...a pace bowler. The most pathetic of indian players ever to don the india cap. He was what boycott fondly calls Chris Harris of NZ..the-ittly-bittly-type.

Not worth being a coach..as if he was worth for the other positions he's occupied thus far.

hi,
lee or bond don't always bowl at 155 kph. In fact very few ppl. So don't type some rubbish for the sake of it.

indian pace bowling

sir,
when you say fast bowlers they should be the one's who can blast the batsmen out of the wicket, like brett lee, shane bond, wasim, waqar, gillespie.these are the kind of bowlers whom captain can rely upon to take wickets.they should be able to bowl at high speed and move the ball to trouble the batsmen.it is not enough if one is able merely to contain the batsmen,or be of the variety of run in and hope as many indian seamers are.it is important to see some genuinely quick bowlers.

we have good bowlers.but not considering

respected sir,
your comment was fine about our strike bowlers.really I appreciate it. one thing I want to say here, in our India so many players are selecting for international cricket.it's fine for players and india. But one problem is there suppose one players got chance for playing international level and he could not well in the first match our TEAM MANAGER,CAPTAIN AND COACH again they will not give chance to him .IS IT JUSTIFIED FOR PLAYARS? I am giving a example about STRIKE BOWLER DEBASIS MOHANTY.absouletly he is a good bowlers in the India.Only he selected for a team member two years ago[for test match in sri Lanka] but he did not get any chance for playing.

it is very tragedy for evey players and every Indians.so my opinion to Indian captain and coach once who will be sllected for indian team they should get chance two or three time for playing.
yours sarat

I agree with your point about Mohanty ... he was definitely given a raw deal. I was one of the many people who thought that he should have been kept in the team and would have provided the Indian pace attack with some power.

However, that was then and this is now. Ganguly as a captain has supported his players to the end. He coaxed Srinath to come out of retirement to play for India because that was in India's bets interest. He backed Dinesh Mongia when Mongia was going through a rough patch. He has consistently believed in Nehra even though things were not going well for him. John Wright has supported him throughout this as well. If you look at the comments made by the younger players in the team today (Kaif, Nehra, Yuvraj, Mongia, Zaheer), they all say that they would never have made it this far without the kind of support that Ganguly and Wright have given them. Both of them make sure that any new player feels right at home in the team, and they will fight for the player even with the BBCI.

no shortage of pace bowlers.

yes Madan Bhayya,

But where is the bowler who can bat and where is batsman who can bowl , in other words, where is the species called allrounders who were with you in 1983. We have forgotten the definition of this word. Now that there is a lull in the Indian cricket, why doesn't BCCI organise series of match between two teams , one made up of 10 bowlers and a keeper, and the other made up of 10 batsmen and a keeper,( sorry, Dravid is only a batsman). This will make the bowlers to score runs as they will not have any batsman in thier team and the other team batsmen have to take wickets as they do not have bowlers. This may see the emergence of the so called ALL ROUNDERS, which Indian team needs so badly.
