Look at the stats of Aus Vs. SA
by vamsi on Jun 07, 2003 01:38 AM

SA ain't nothing compared with Aussies. Just look into how many times have they were beat black & blue by the Aussies. I find it amusing that many Indians stll think that SA is a better team compared to Australia. India is a lot better cuz actually we have beat the aussies atleast at home. SA failed very miserably even in that front.

burnout
by Swati on Jun 06, 2003 10:33 AM

I would like to see all of you who have posted messages saying that Ponting is making excuses to play non stop for 7 to 8 months, without having a break for more than 3 three weeks altogether. When you have done that, you can comment all you want. Or are you still sore about that World Cup loss to the Aussies?

You have lot of players to do the job
by Venu Madhav Thalla on Jun 06, 2003 08:02 AM

So What???You have lot of players to do the job for the country."Cricket is no more Gentleman's game" and that is proved by Autralians by their on and off loud mouth outbursts.I dont know how many teams have exposed the weaknesses of Australia but to the extent South Africa has done.I bet these Australian rely in sledging, before match statements and on opposition weakness.....Yeah they are great cricketers.

thats professionalism.... indeed.
whining in professional style... only when you lose...
when you are on a victory run.. no one bothers. why didn't the aussies complain when they had to board a plan to W Indies, only 2 weeks after their World Cup triumph?forget the players... even the fans were exhausted after a 40-something days' world cup.

Ponting warns of player burnout
by Lewin Fernandes on Jun 05, 2003 12:27 PM

Mr. Ponting is merely saying things to cover up for the three losses which Australia suffered at the end of the ODI series in West Indies. Even India has been playing nonstop cricket leading upto the world cup and there was no big hue and cry about it. And why complain about player burnout and bringing to an end their premature carriers when everybody knows that Aussies don't want to let go of their places in the international team for talented youngsters even when they are 40 years old. I am not referring in particular to Steve Waugh because I feel he is still worth his weight in gold in the Australian side as he is the man behind making this unit a world beating one. Ponting should not be complaining about all these little things because the globalization of the game means that it requires that much more from the players and meanwhile it should be noted that the Aussies use the rotation policy by which players are constantly being rotated within the team to enable to rest the players. If anything that Ponting has to worry about it is the deteriorating standard of his players' behavior on the international scene. I think the rest should be a time to improve their onfield behavior.

Ponting

Losers always have a reason.Reasons start creeping when you start losing.2 weeks back Mr.Ponting was enjoying his cricket and mow he fears a burn out syndrome.Unbelievable.Never have the Aussies accepted defeat gracefully and give credit to their opponents for their good performance.
